Acrylic Nails

^yeah i loved having acrylic nails, my hands looked so nice but in my opinion so not worth it!

I buy my cheap acrylic nails at the local drug store. You know the super glue on kind. They stay on for a couple weeks and only cost $5.
:)

Acrylic nails can look really good, but I agree with everyone. Once you take them off your real nails will be hell. I used to get mine done every two weeks, and then I just filed them down and let them grow out.

Yep thats right, soak them in acetone and use some cotton to wipe them off. I dont know what salon you went to, but ripping them off is wrong! Its damaging and its not the right way to do it.
Sometimes the nail technician can file them down a bit too so soaking them is easier. It is very drying and it may make your nails feel really weak but remember to moisturise them after.

Usually I would recommend getting UV nails I think its less damage for your natural nails underneath. :flower:

I agree that UV nails are the best option at the moment. Ive had them for about 3 years now. I used to have acrylic ones once and Id never get them again!

I don't have acrylic or gel nails, however I have plenty of friends that do. I personally like gel nails better because they are more natural looking- especially if you keep them a little bit short. Anyway, a friend of mine who is a doctor said that if you continuously get them done, you should have the salon remove them every 2 or 3 months and just let your nails breathe for a while. Maybe for a week or so. Then get them redone. This will help prevent infections and nail fungus from growing there.

Yes that is what I do every 2 months - I get them removed for a few days. As I said Ive had them for 3 years now and havent had any fungus nor any infections yet... So I would recommend them :)

Ugh. Their so cheap looking.

When you get them professionally done they look fantastic - not cheap at all.
Do you mean the stick on ones? You can't mean the proper ones..

When I see girls with Acrylic nails I always stare !
Because they look so nice. Unfortunately I can't do anything with long nails that's why I haven't had mine done.
However, I don't like the loooong pam anderson-p*rn-nails :yuk: , I like them only if they are done in proportion to your fingers.
