I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Im not trying to throw salt either, as a fan I want Adriana to get noticed and she will. But lets not get our hopes up. Remember when people were talking about how "big" she was going to be after the Fantasy Bra, or the Superbowl commercial, or her first GQ cover. Hell what about dating Lenny Kravitz or being in a commercial with Bob Dylan. If none of those things could put her at Gisele or Heidi's level, I doubt a pregnancy would. And she might get mentioned by TMZ etc every once and a while, but not nearly as much as the other two, not even close.
Lets face it, in order for a pregnancy to be a big deal in the press, the pregnant person/couple has to be a big deal BEFORE the pregnancy.

Oh and about the searches. Those are not independant searches, they are the volume of searches. Adriana has a large group of intense fans, who probally search her name over and over. I know I used to goole her name at least once or twice a week. Its not necessarily new people searching for her. Its not necessarily a very good gauge of who is more famous either, look at who is domination the actual news mentions, that is a much better indication of who people are writing and talking about, and its always been Gisele.

I'm in the middle of you both because I can understand what both of you are saying, but then there are things that I don't agree with in both cases. Her being pregnant should and I think will be a big deal because it's Adriana. The World's Most Voluptuous Virgin. However, I think it's going to be a big deal for completely different reasons once people do the math and realize that she did not wait until marriage which can, weirdly enough, be good for her in a way.

There was a pic of Morgane Dubled from the Victoria's Secret 2007 show where part of her bra padding was revealed when she turned around.

So I think it's safe to assume that VS enhances the models attributes in one form or another, whether it be extra padding or photoshop.

I have to be a debbie downer and say that with all the A-list celebrities going, she could easy be cast aside. Madonna, Halle Barry, Anne Hathaway. I don't even think Gisele can get more press than Madonna. (actually, i'm not sure since People Magazine's website has an article about Gisele being on the cover of the new V magazine) But all I am trying to say is that it's unlikely for Adriana to be the focus of everyone's attention at this event. But ... I could easily be wrong.

well i could be wrong but we all know that Adriana is more popular than Lara when it comes to mainstream mass media press (People Magazine, E!, Access, blah blah) but in terms of the High Fashion community, I think people are more interested in Lara than Adriana. but like i said, i could be wrong, since i know everyone wants her to show up.

but i agree about her getting more attention than KK.

You're right yes the high fashion community cares more about Lara, but at the MET even though it's filled with HF people as guests, it's the mass media who is there to cover it the likes of E! and access hollywood and such. So they're going to be more interested in the celebs (Madonna, and Heidi) then Gisele, then models like Adriana's stature then it will be more Miranda and KK and then the rest of the guests.

I'm not saying she's as famous as Gi (not anywhere near) but I'm saying her doing this will cause a stir and she will get attention. She'll get a bit more than KK a bit less than Gisele and a lot less than the celebs. Whether she shows up with a baby bump or doesn't show up at all I'll be estatic.

I honestly would love to have her show up with her baby bump, she would look so adorable. Still can't believe the turkish press missed that...oi

in terms of getting press attention, i'm not going to touch the Gisele v.s. Adriana argument. (*because the truth should be obvious*)

but what i will say is that where this particular theme is all about Models as Muse, the focus is going to be on the biggest fashion models in the world. ALL of the "supers" will be in attendance. so there will likely be big group shots with Christy, Linda, Naomi, Claudia, Cindy, Stephanie, Eva, Elle, Kate, Gisele, etc THAT is what's gonna get the attention of the press.

beyond that will be the A-list stars like Madonna, Halle, etc etc

then the rest of the models like Adriana, Doutzen, KK, , Miranda, Stam, Daria, Natalia, etc etc

Well she's really never been the mainstream face of a campaign for HF, she's done HF work but nothing as big as being taken or asked to attend the MET. She might have been asked but I highly doubt it. Also she's not got anything going on right now (except hiding her pregnancy) she's been flying everywhere to see Marko's games and etc and resting in NYC. She's not really doing anything. Her official vacay is in August when she always takes a month off.

I wouldn't be surprised if come Monday morning she announces her little secret so everyone is waiting at the MET for her to come so they can get the first pic of her. Or if she just shows up, but either way I hope she'll show up but I"m guessing she really won't go because of something we're all pretty much sure of at this point.
