‘When [Victoria’s Secret] said they were bringing an angel to London, I really, really hoped it would be me,’ said Adriana Lima – aka the smiliest, most un-dislikeable model imaginable. ‘I love London.’

Indeed, the longest-serving angel had whizzed from a photocall at the label’s New Bond Street flagship yesterday morning to Tower Bridge to squeeze in a spot of sigheseeing before lunch with the fashion pack at The Connaught. Dressed head-to-ankle in VS – yep, they do clothes too, you know – she held court over her seabass entrée.

Extolling all things Angel, she explained that what happens on the world’s most glamorous catwalk isn’t a performance. ‘It’s not a character – it’s the girls showing their personalities,’ she explained. ‘Even Beyoncé, when she’s Sacha Fierce, that’s not fake – it’s a part of her personality. It’s the same thing.’

Here are five more things we learned during our audience La Lima – aka the ‘grandma’ of the angel bunch:

- When she does fan meet-and greets, many VS fans come wearing wings (even the boys);

- She really, really loves push-up bras – and she’ll always go for red, white or black;

- She spent six months living on London’s Kings Road when she was younger;

- Her four-year-old daughter loves Christmas, but is afraid of Santa;

- She has never had a mince pie. But she’s game to try one.

She really said her first show was in 2000? It wasn't. Her first show was in 1999, with that super loooong black hair and seeeexy face:

That dress does look perfect on her & the hair also. That last outfit looks really good too, whoever styled her did i good job, it's very rare that she wears a decent outfit that is consisted of several different pieces.
