If Adriana Lima goes to Marilyn as early reports suggest, will she able to take her mega V/S contract with her? Standard business practice says no, which would mean DNA would still collect the hefty commission on the girl. But then there must have been an incentive for Marilyn to clinch the poach. That then begs the question of the fiscal strategy of the NY modeling agencies in the face of America's current financial crisis. The current guessing game is, which agencies are pumping on true revenue and which are counting on a continued line of credit to survive 2009. Let's just say December will create a definitive dividing line for many companies. The recent surge of investors into the NY modeling industry makes you want to start digging for the real financial picture behind the scene. And that would make for quite an interesting article.

That's not what they're saying, they're saying the Marilyn agents won't be getting money from VS. Her DNA agent will continue to get the money without having to work.

this part of the article describes the situation as if there are possibilites she wont be working for them. Contracts aren't forever..they eventually expired.

That's not what he meant, DNA lost Adriana but they got her VS contract and her agent gets a comission for that until the contract is over. They were wondering if her DNA agent would stop getting money from VS considering he's not Adriana's agent anymore but he probably will because he got her the contract.

^Okay, explained. VS wouldn't be as popular without Adriana. We've already lost Giselle. I don't think the brand could afford losing another face that represents them.

Adriana recently signed her contract with Victoria's Secret for another 5 years, earlier this year...she's not going anywhere. What thiago said is correct, DNA will just get her commission Just keep in mind she's only been with DNA for 3 years, before she was with Elite and she left in the middle of her VS contact then as well, so her switching agencies doesn't matter.

In the comment section of that story ... whoever is claiming DNA is getting the money is most likely lying anyway, she nailed her VS contact way back in 2000. So DNA wasn't the one that got her the contract, she just renewed under them, so I doubt they'll honestly get anything. Plus I don't believe the person that made the comment, I don't see two agents discussing a models huge contract loud enough for people to hear in a public restaurant.

She also renewed her Maybelline contract for 5 more years...so she's not going anywhere, from VS or Maybelline.

I have a weird question! Lol!

I was just reading tht Adriana is part Native-American ( which I didn't know) and I'm just wondering if she actually looks Native-American. I know that might seem strange to ask but, being British, I've never actually met anyone of Native-American decent and so might not have a very true image of the physicality of the race. Does she looks Native-American or is it pretty diluted in Adi?

I have to say I actually think you can tell right away that she is a Native. I remember, before I got into either models or fashion, I saw this picture of her from a VS catalogue and immidiately thought she must have been a Native. That's why I looked her up. I'm a Native indigenous from Brasil as well, but not quite as mixed as she is.
IMO you can see it clearly, looking at her facial structure alone. But I do find it quite hard explaining what those features are exactly. The eyes, the cheekbones, the color of her skin, her hair ...

but than CC got a point as well of course. You could mistake (which I suppose I did with Fernanda Tavares) because there are many tribes.

dream angels Wish launch

Adriana will be participating in a launch event in NYC for the new dream angels Wish fragrance. Exactly when or where, I am not sure yet. Perhaps Herald Square on launch day afternoon. I am sure BC will find out for us

Yes her hair is kind of a dead giveaway, she's got naturally very very very curly hair, she actually has to get a relaxer in it to keep it straight.

Wasnt it on her 2006 VSFS profile said she has some indonesian in her? It didnt say japanese

Her grandmother is Japanese, and her Grandfather is african. She stated this in an interview a while back like in 2004.
