Adriana Lima

An article that I put through the translator and then quickly fixed up a bit, but it's still kind of weird:

Supermodel Adriana Lima is the star of the February issue of Vogue Brazil. After years without photographing in Brazil, the model especially came to be layer and filling of the February edition. The issue/editorials, made during three days in a studio and the club Lions, both in São Paulo, brings a climate of a ball of a glamorous Carnival. "For this issue of Vogue, we imagine a great Bal Masqué (Masquerade), that has this climate of pierrot, of colombina and arlequim" it counts Giovanni Frasson, director of fashion of the magazine." I adored the subject of the photos that is inspired by a masquerade. I always try to make something different, to give a more modern face and to try to print my personality in fotos." The choice of Adriana for the February eissue was not by chance. "We negotiate during some months the coming of it, since its agenda is concurred well. It made some years that we didn't work with Adriana and I always loved working with her. It is a picture of the Brazilian woman, beyond being very professional, having a mood ótimo" Giovanni counted. Adriana used this time to her advantage in carnival climate to kill homesicknesses of Brazilian music, since on the set of the issue was packed by musics of artists as Marisa Mount, Caetano Veloso and Ed Mota. "It is well different to work here in Brazil, I feel like I'm at home. To tell you the truth, I was a little nervous. It had been awhile since I've worked in Brazil."

I LOVE the first shot on post#260

I wonder why Adriana hasn't worked in the Brazilian market for so long? Obviously there's been a demand for her, and she seems like she would enjoy going back to work at home.

I don't know, but maybe not having an agency in Brazil might have something to do with it?

To me there is something weird about Adriana and Brazil. It has been written about before that she does not / has not worked in Brazil until recently. It seems like it was on Adriana's part which was interesting to me because she is such a sweetheart. My speculation if indeed it's true that she's been keeping her distance, is that she was treated crappily during her early years of modeling, and again speculating that perhaps it is because Adriana is mixed race (although untanned she is fairer than many Caucasian models) and even if she was in demand there, she preferred to not work in a place that held some bad memories. Again, just speculating, and in fact, speculating on top of speculating on top of speculating. ^_^

So the cover, according to that Twitter, is by Fabio Bartelt. Which means the Greg Kadel shoot was for something else?
