who knows? Her position might change soon. Kate is getting old and pretty soon designers and magazine editors will tire of having to photoshop all her pictures when they can hire younger models. It's just a matter of time before the cover and campaign offers decrease. And she'll have to rely more on her business ventures and i don't think that alone can give her $13 million. Adriana is off to a good start this year if you ask me.

If you add Adriana and Daria's earnings you still don't equal Kate's and that is being very, very generous because much of Daria's earnings comes from a beauty contract which is also embedded in Adriana's earnings. No disrespect to Adriana, but she ain't getting ready to get Daria's bookings and with a young child and living in a different country from her big client, I doubt (understandably) that she is even willing to hustle to get those kind of bookings. However, I do think that it is fortuitous that she is living in Italy and I think that her look suits Italian houses, so I personally would like to see her establish relationships with one or more houses. Wasn't she Anna Molinari's muse? But even if we see an uptick in her campaigns, it is not going to close a gap that big, she would either have to secure another fat contract (and there aren't that many fashion ones out there that can co-exist with her VS one) or a business venture.

Kate is getting old? Cindy Crawford has 2 covers this month, one of them is a Vogue Cover. D&G chose 'older' models for their fragrance campaign a few years ago. Christy Turlington is still the face of a cosmetic brand, so is Claudia Schiffer. Laetitia Casta was the face of Roberto Cavalli last season.. Don't even go on models getting old. Kate is one of the supermodel era..

Adriana is doing great. The things she does whether it's for VS or Vogue Brazil or on the runway for Givenchy.. but there I agree with Agee.. the gap between Adriana and Kate is too big. Business venture-wise as HF-workwise.

Now back to another question: Is it really true about VS and MDFT?! Can anyone confirm that... seeing the latest line-up I am seeing a lot of other strange things not referring to VS

my dear of course she's getting old just take 1 look at her appearance at her louis vuitton show and it will speak for itself. I'm not saying it's a bad thing because i'm happy older women are still having work. I'm not saying she'll stop getting jobs, because God knows she will be around for a while , but it's only natural that the amount of job offers she has will decrease. Hello, we're talking about the fashion world here. Just because cindy has 2 vogue covers this month and the others have 1 cosmetic contract doesn't mean they're still in demand as they once were. And can we stop talking about HF like it's the only genre in modelling. If kate has been successfull HF wise, Adriana has also been very successful commercial wise

^ I already said that Adriana is doing great in what she does.. but that doesn't mean the gap between them isn't big. Kate has a different status. agee, you're always on point. I have to agree with you. I think Adriana is pretty content with what vs is paying her. And doing other jobs now and then outside of vs. God know the Gap between 8 million and 13 million is a lot

She has, she's done the whole bombshell tour (and the second one coming up), she has been the lead of the last big beauty and makeup campaigns, plus Dream Angels Wish Perfume, and several others.

I wouldn't' have any grievances against VS if they actually employed her more than once a year for an obscure photo for their "beauty line".

Another thing that doesn't sit well with me is how she has taken a backseat when it comes to the amount of catalogue work they select for her. She seems to shoot for them on regular basis, yet maybe only four or five photos from that shoot may surface and that's if we're lucky.

I realize that Candice is their budding star but it just feels almost as if Adriana is an afterthought and that VS will occasionally do a photo-shoot/TV spot featuring her simply because she is the head angel and because they have a contractual obligation to fulfill.

I don't know if their marketing executives care how her fan base feels about the matter or if it's simply a matter of which girl sells to the masses and/or is more lucrative. But I think it will hurt her image in the future if she continues to be overshadowed by Candice, Erin, Lily, and Chanel (especially as she grows older and does not seem to venture into other projects/campaigns outside of VS with regularity).

Either way, for a long time fan, it's more than a little disappointing to see the role she's been delegated to.

to be honest i dont see adri having to much passion as other models do.like Ale on AB.
i mean i think she reather be a home with her family.then getting more money or making a name for her self. i mean we see ale trying to do other things like more HF campaigns,going for fashion weeks,editorial,parties (which is work getting to know people,who may help you career)etc.etc and we dont really se Adri doing any of that

There's a make up beauty campaign that she did aside from this Bombshell Summer fragrance campaign that should be coming out soon and then she also just did another VS Beauty campaign for them in Malibu because they had beauty bloggers on set that were talking about it. She's all over the make up displays with pictures we've never seen before and VS employees won't let you take pictures.

And I agree with Cynthia. A lot. Except for the overshadowing part because those girls will never be where Adriana is financially or in popularity. It just doesn't happen anymore. And if what I'm hearing is to be true, the line up will be completely different by the end of the year/beginning of next.

I think you have a good point vivaglam. Somehow I just can't imagine girls like Lily/Erin/Chanel etc. becoming a household name or having the same prestige that is associated with Adriana Lima. I do however feel that Candice is already beginning to eclipse Adriana's standing at VS. Not so much in the beauty/charisma department (although I'm sure other people may disagree with me) but simply through the sheer amount of work she does for them.

And also, alonso, you do bring up a valid theme. I feel as if Adriana is content with the amount of time she dedicates to her modeling career and would rather have the remainder of her time to be as private as possible. She never struck me as being overly ambitious and/or pr savvy figure in the first place.

Thank you! And yeah, about Candice, I agree too though before I thought she was just going to be all about VS and that was it because that's just how it seemed. All she needs is the famous boyfriend, I guess. But even then it's just like nobody is looked at like that anymore. I feel like after Adriana and Ale leave VS, the whole Angel/Bombshell thing will just not have as much of an effect (which is already going downhill), so the other girls will really have no choice but to do other stuff because they're already not giving out the big contracts they used to. I think the Forbes list proves that or else we would've saw more VS girls up there. Especially since Doutzen and Miranda dropped off. I think when Adriana and Ale leave VS that VS should just do away with spokesmodel contracts. It's just a waste of money when we can't even have the same stable line up of girls year after year because you get rid of them for not being an Adriana or Ale (or Heidi, Tyra, etc.) And plus being an Angel or Bombshell just doesn't hold the same prestigious title (unless you are Adriana or Ale) like it did in the early 2000's.
