Alaïa S/F 2025 Paris

I've got to love it for how literally high-fashion and high-culture it is. In a time when so many brands are either being flashy or just selling bread & butter, Mulier keeps pushing the envelope even though he could easily present a bunch of neat little dresses with perforated skirts and leather jackets with some sexy shoes and secure himself wider approval. Not saying everything works (the mismatched footwear on some of the looks is not really elevating things + similar to Prada, there could've been less of those broad-in-the-hips skirts), but I appreciate his ability and willingness to cut, drape, sculpt and overall experiment with silhouettes and textures on a level that is pretty up there - very much what people said Blazy was doing at BV (but wasn't quite), at least in my opinion.

In the casting thread they said Bella Hadid would be on the show, I don't know how true that is. Identifying the walk like this is hard maybe the spin could help us?
From the spins I would say this is Gigi but this could also be Vittoria or Bella, although the model in the video is wearing the opening look so, idk.

As much as I appreciate your point of view, FashioNarrating, and how articulate you are, I have the opposite impression: the harder Mulier tries, the bigger he fails.
The pieces that should be the show-stoppers, like the two last dresses, the Hawaiian grass skirts with the headpieces, or the Miyake-Fortuny-plissés are the less achieved (for me).
My preference goes to the outerwear and the jackets, maybe not so "creative" but better executed.
I agree with TomBlanksFullFatMiuMiu, it's fifty fifty, with some beautiful pieces in the mix.

I just noticed now that the message on the other thread was yours hahaha, anyway you're right from the spins it really looks like Gigi but the walk is not hers

Yeah the walk especially the feet and hips movements would make me assume this is Bella but she isn't in Paris so I would say this is Vittoria but I am not really sure about that either.

Nope she has a different body type, her arms and waist are slimmer and she has longer legs than the model in the video posted.

The glimes of lightness of mastering cutting techniques meeting the gesture of sensuality from the original ALAIA where like a needle in a haystack to be found in this show.

its deceitful because when you see the e com its all flat stuff .....that if it was not for the image of photography and models etc would be shein like for there basics of a wolfford piece as rtw

also the forced quirky footwear ala jaqemuse i hate why ....why .....the child like and stiffness look of the sculpted like elements is old fashioned by 100 years

he does not love women or to dress them to much concept to please a ig reel of 15 seconds impression of oh cool !!!!!

its all so chunky not refined or light modern for most part

I wonder what his notes are for this collection
