Alaïa S/F 2025 Paris

There's a lot that I want to like about his Alaïa. Everyone comparing Azzedine's philosophy to Pieter's is right; the more shows of his I watch, the more I think it's about the body underneath the clothes as opposed to the body wearing the clothes. I just wish he thought about different bodies.

I wish the hip rolls under the skirts didn't exist; he could have had a lovely collection of sharp, wearable, interestingly pleated skirt looks and one or two with rolls for editorials. It would also be nice to see some knitwear that isn't sheer. The Dune sand worm tops are such a mistake and will take attention away from other interesting pieces. There was a white top underneath something else I wish we saw more of. The curved lapel coats were the standouts for me.

I do like the risks he's taking, but I agree with other commenters saying muses or whoever he has around need to push back. For me, the Alaïa clothes I've always thought of were imminently wearable. I immediately wanted to put them on and have something to do so I could go out and be seen and feel good. With Pieter I have to dig for something that makes me feel that way.
