Alexa Chung

They wouldn't look the same if they weren't that skinny/limby/whatever.
Hey! at least she's naturally like that.:flower:

I do not think she is 'limby'. Limby is what I associate with tall girls (like myself), Alexa is not that tall, is she?

Some more information on the ethical fashion documentary

The Fashion Slave factory, run by Alexa Chung, has been set up based on evidence we've obtained about conditions in factories in Asia supplying well-known fashion brands. The conditions- the hours, the pay and the environment - are based on workers' experiences in Asian factories. Over the next 5 days, the factory aims to produce 500 dresses that meet retail standards. The factory is staffed by 15 volunteer members of the public. They are all budget fashion-lovers who are discovering what it's like to make the bargain clothes they love so much. In 5 days ,hey will work approximately 60 hours each, earning on average 15p and hour. This experiment is being carried out for the purposes of a C$ documentary, which is currently in production. The aim of the documentary is to explore the production process of fashion garments abroad, looking at how they are made so cheaply - and to bring these processes to the attention of UK shoppers.

Isnt she being a hypocrit:innocent:so what is she trying to prove i mean , the show sounds actually good and i think this could be her first good show and it sounds really interesting and it would be good to see and hear the fact of the conditions that they are in asia working ,so that we can have our 20 euro dress, but ms chung herself wears alot of the brands that are working with cheap labor .Topshop has been reprimanded for cheap labor and lets not forget about H&M.Like i said sounds good ...

Thanks for the info diamondstar, i should have gone over to her when she was searching for workers and called me over.... I could have been on that show, although I dont think I want to work for 15p an hour:p
Modela - yes I suppose it could be quite hypocritical, but then again, nearly all high street stores use cheap labour, so it would be pretty impossible for her to buy high street brands like topshop, without her seeming like a hypocrit!

Well you do have ethical fashionlines and they are under the pricerange of all her designergoodies .....in a way we all have a choice. But for her career this actually sounds promising. What have the reactions/ratings been to her new show The Wall??

^yes, very true, It'll be interesting to see if she wears 'ethical' clothing in the show...my guess is probably not!

^ It would seem kind of ridiculous that she's trying to move a point about sweat shop labour wearing stuff that was made in one.

And that fact that she is still wearing Topshop etc maybe seems a little silly.

We don't know what she'll be wearing in the documentary yet, we should probably wait until we've seen it before we start to criticise her fashion choices :p. I suspect the angle of the show will be "Alexa The Fashionista learns more about the poor conditions, learns the error of her ways" - that's usually how these types of documentaries work ^_^.

She has made some moves in the right direction - the jewellery collection. It was also mentioned a week ago, by someone in-the-know on Arctic Monkeys' forum, that she had signed up to model for Oxfam's ethical clothing range, but we haven't heard anything about that yet.

She did an ethical fashion shoot for the Guardian last year (the pics never turned up online :(). Here's what she said at the time -

Alexa Chung

24, presenter of Popworld on T4, star of ITV1's Get a Grip and nominee for the World's Sexiest Vegetarian

'I went to an ethical fashion show a couple of years ago,' Alexa says. 'They said it would shatter my preconceived ideas, with designs far from the hippy stuff you'd expect, but it was exactly that. All sackcloth, nothing you'd want to be seen in.' So she's pleasantly surprised by the clothes we show her: 'I need this in my life!' she exclaims, pointing to an Anatomy organic dress made of hemp and silk.

I ask her about the Topshop leather jacket and Chanel leather shoes she arrived in. 'I haven't eaten meat since I was 16. Living in the country, hanging out with lambs, then seeing them hanging in a stable... I suppose it makes sense to translate that into clothes, but it's harder to find ethical fashion. They need to make it more readily available. I'd definitely wear this,' she says, admiring her outfit for the shoot. 'In fact, I'm thinking about stealing it.'
guardian

modela, there haven't been any reviews/ratings for The Wall, but it is a bad show.

dailyrecord review of The Wall

Gone to the wall

Apr 12 2008 John McKie
WORST thing on telly this week was BBC3's replacement for Lily Allen And Friends - The Wall.
It's a comedy show which doesn't have Lily Allen, any Friends or any comedy. It's hosted by Rhys Thomas and Alexa Chung, girlfriend of Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner.
The crowd was whooping and hollering but fun was in short supply.
Everybody have fun tonight?
Everybody hang Chung tonight.

^ Harsh, but having (attempted at least) watched I would be inclined to agree.

^same, it really was that bad! I wonder why alexa woluld agree to do something so bad!

I can't work out why she agreed to do it either . Her agency should be waiting for the right things, rather than signing her up for any old rubbish, it's not like she's desperate for work...
