Why is she wearing an outfit like that in the middle of a heat wave in New York City? She looks pretty but trying a little hard with the grunge 90's get up and plus it too hot for all that! Her face and hair are on point!

thanks for clarifying aoedele. i'm meh on that look: don't really like white socks - too childish. black would be better. but i quite like socks and sandals in some cases (a detacher style ).

Imho, there is something pedophile-ish about grown women wearing young girl things. It goes with the sexualizing of girls that the advertising industry does a lot.

"young girl things" ... hmm this is so vague though. how do you narrow it down? socks in certain colours may look girlish, but not in black, really. is a mini skirt young girlish? high pony tails? so many things could fall into that category.

maybe there's a historic role play aspect to it but to say there's some sexual deviance and pedophiliac tendencies in wearing a pair of white socks, give me a break.. I'm especially surprised you're sharing this, Aoedele, you seem to justify the open sexualisation of girls like Kylie Jenner, but find white socks morally questionable.

Anyway, there's also something British about it, Paul Smith, Margaret Howell.. they all revisit elements of uniforms in a frequent basis...
