Alexander McQueen Mens S/S 07 Milan

Umm....yeah.... I'm not feeling it. They aren't very strong looks, and as usual, McQueen just put some shock value into the styling. In my opinion, he should stick to women's.

I didn't even realise that menswear season had started again but this is beautiful.

not feeling the hats
love the detailing on the blazers
it's so laid back..i like it

That's fantastic! Alexander is the best. :woot:
The best pieces are unwearable though :(

some of the suits are really divine- he is such a genius with tailoring-

I'm really loving most of it

some of it is a bit:blink: though

i like it a lot! my favorite collection so far from ss07... which isn't really saying a lot but i do like it. :)

It looks great. I love the shadows these sort of beekeeper hats create. And the cutting of the suits look superb. But it looks like you'd have to be quite 'fit' or 'slim' to make it work. Is this true? I really don't know that much about suits and how they fit.

I think this is generally true. The jackets I have (conveniently one, two and three buttoned) are fairly snug. The three button and single button fit fairly closely to the single button gold jacket- although the single button is lower. The 2 bottoned suit jacket is a little more forgiving, but it still quite a bit trimmer than some of my other suit jackets.

I don't know from personal experience, but I think you could go up a size and have it taken in a bit if you weren't thin as a rail. Unlike a Dior, I never get the impression that the clothes are made with "boys" (meaning under 25 and under 130) in mind. It's more romantic and theatrical, such that while you're better off being thin, it's possible to wear in moderate sizes. Actually, I just remembered that one of my friends who is a a few sizes above the models has a McQueen suit that's very flattering, so it is possible. :)

As far as the collection goes, it's my favorite of the season so far. The hats and veils are a beautiful touch that reminds me of Fassbinder's "In a Year of 13 Moons". Disregarding the hats, it seems to be one of his most wearable collections. Other than some of the sheer shirts and the fewextremely deep V-necks (which could easily be worn over something), the jackets are gorgeous and would be easy to incorporate into my wardrobe. I like how he's taken something similar to the pink checkered pattern of Spring 05 and made it far easier to pull off without eliminating the charm. Hopefully I'll be "established" by the time this stuff starts to come out. I don't want to wait until Yoox gets in a year and half or two years.

personally im not feeling that gold suit jacket with the button so high up... it's like the empire waistline but for men...

same goes here otherwise most of the clothes are pretty wearable though i wouldnt be comfy int he chiffon

Somehow his spring collections never live up to his fall collections (in menswear)

wow...im quite disappointed :( I wanted to see more creativeness

I love it. Actually, I can't remember the F/W 06/07 menswear collection...what was it?

Oh ya.

Sequins are McQueens trademark, it's his thing. Sequins or embroidery on sheer fabrics are his thing. It's like what is quintessentially McQueen...I love sequins for men, it's so...I dont know, Im in LOVE with that Burberry cardigan, so much so that Im considering acquiring it (as long as it stays out of the four digit range)
