i have to say it's nice to see him evolving from that whole expensive gap disposable basics direction and actually designing something. the clothes and the technique is looking a bit better. and they look like something you might actually want to invest in rather than knocking-off at one's local mass retailer. i think that's what was impressive about the a/w.

it still looks derivative,indeed but there are some nice pieces in this.

I think it looks terrible. The styling is really sloppy looking, the clothes look sad, the girls look uncomfortable. Bad.

call it hype, overrated, or whatever you may... but this collection says a lot more than some overconceptualized couture presentations we have seen before.
it's daring, a bit pretentious ma non troppo, easy to wear, well styled (he does know his styling dos and donts), young, fresh, versatile... et voila! what else do we need, if not fresh air! it's not memorable, of course, but it neednt be

I'm loving the 6th outfit, with a nice hint of sparkle, and the leather pieces. It does seem to be a very wearable collection, but perhaps too simplistic...?
I agree with those above me who aren't liking the models' hair!

I like it a lot, it is wearable but not classic; it is not for the fashion wallflower.

Not showstoppers, but I wish that the color palette was not so drab, and I, for one, am not a fan of Wang's penchant for wet / greasy styling.

I was hoping for the spring/summer 2011 collection to be similar to this, absolutely love the tailoring and knits, he can't seem to go wrong in those areas

with this collection, alexander wang has declared himself the helmut lang of this generation. honestly, piece by piece, look by look, this collection strikes every fantastic chord that we once saw come down the runways of helmut lang himself. the smart fashion girl would buy every single piece of this stuff and make it her own. we're witnessing a changing of the guard.

the collection as a whole is blah

a few pieces are REALLY nice (doesn't elevate the collection tho)

whoever decided to go with the wet hair, white socks and sandals look deserves to get shot

First and lasts designs are the best. Don't like the hair and lack of makeup, it makes it look too casual.
