Alexander Wang Resort 2009

best resort collection so far!!! so resorty without looking nautical or safari-esque.

it's definitely not bad...but it's now wow-ing me....is there more?...

ohhohhohh. i'm excited to see more. drools. one of the better resort collections imo. love the first 3 looks.

I kind of like how these shoes actually add an element of edge to the clothes... because let's face it... once broken down and worn with the inevitable 'leggings and flats' combo that every girl is sporting these days... these clothes are gonna look totally H&M's.

I really agree with you.. I always saw Alexander Wang than nothing more than clever styling, his clothes looks like items you can already buy in shops.

And the white dress looks like a Acne jeans rip-off.

Interesting that you name Acne Jeans in terms of similarities here, Pucci - Now that I think about it, I find a lot of Alexander Wang's clothes concept-wise very much on par with what Acne is doing - updated 'staples', incomplicated basics with details that you can wear every day and that use better materials than H&M or Topshop... Maybe the pricing makes more sense in the US (also with regards to The Row) compaired to Europe, in between the high end and contemporary lines - so pretty much on par with Acne, Martin Margiela 06, See by Chloé or Étoile Isabel Marant.

I fail to see the amazingness of them all. They're dull, predictable, and somewhat ill-fitting [so far, I guess]

I agree.
I love Alexander Wang..
His designs are consistent & adorable..
But I feel his $$$-point is totally out of range..
I think he'd fare far better if he designed @ a diff. price pt...
Contemporary stuff, I'd say...
Kinda like Phillip Lim..
He also does rly adorable stuff...
That is far too costly since it is so trendy..

I agree. I like the last two looks but otherwise...

Is there just two pieces? I can't wait to see more! :buzz:

"Alexander Wang joked that his downtown hipster has moved to “an old boat somewhere with a bunch of robes and stuff, and decides to dock somewhere random..."

If my downtown hipster moved to an old boat somewhere with a bunch of robes and stuff I would definitely need those shoes to navigate my way out. Of course I would wear the white one shoulder dress as well.

Errrm... I don't think you have been to H&M lately. This has nothing to do with H&M, it looks nothing like what H&M is doing. H&M doesn't take chances. The only thing that maybe would sell in H&M would be the white one-shoulder dress. Perhaps the orange dress, but then they would have to do it in another colour. This is most definately not suited for H&M.
