The first few barcode-inspired pieces were quite interesting and I loved their almost gender-fluid quality.

Then it became a bore for me. Too much fabrication and not even design imo.

I'm not overwhelmed either. I liked some of the colorful dresses, but more from a subjective consumer point's of view than from an informed fashion critic.

I liked a lot of it. From my perspective, it seems to be inspired by sneakers. The barcodes included. I know I'm not the only one who saw to Jordan Brand inspiration on the bags and concrete print.

Some of the pieces towards the end looked like costumes. It was an ok collection.

It's not necessarily a boring collection because a lot of the details on the top and dresses were quite interesting and I love the use of leather. Oh, and some fabulous dresses. However, I'm so tired of his fascination with motocross culture, athletic, sportswear clothing. Yes, it's his aesthetic, but c'mon try to expand.

Loved it, except for maybe the high-waisted jackets right before the end. I really liked the usage of tailored pants throughout and the body-con silhouettes.

That was so boring, only a few looks from the beginning were good. The rest was some really ugly "sporty-futuristic" pieces that were just too obvious to expect in his show. Some literally looked like costumes from video games. Even Dion Lee does better stuff than this.

I know people must be sick of hearing this, but Nicolas did the high-waisted pants and the scuba diving inspiration a lot more successfully.

I thought it was a poor collection and stale. His fall collection was nice and a good progression, this just seems stale and redundant.

Honestly a lot of this looks like a poor man's NG Balenciaga.

And let me highlight this: almost 12 YEARS AGO.

It was a gorgeous collection. Quintessential Alexander Wang but this time it felt a bit more dressed up and elevated. With this collection, he managed to bring some maturity without losing that youthful edge that the brand is known for. Also, there were new silhouettes in there which is a testament to Alex's growth and evolution as a designer. Bravo!

How is it new, most of these are a poorly knocked off from NG's work at Balenciaga. Even NG himself has moved on.

Barcodes, consumerism, fungibility. What a mind-bogglingly original idea! So subtle, yet so deep.

Seriously, did he throw this together overnight?

Honestly at this point I can't tell the difference between Alexander Wang and Balenciaga. And the funny thing is, I was reading Vanessa Friedman's recent profile of Wang and he stated that he is trying very hard to keep the two brand as different as possible. I guess he has already succumbed to the pressure and realized he just doesn't have that many ideas, just like Marc Jacobs's several last years at Louis Vuitton.

for some reason Alex Wang loves to do these hybrid collections. they were ok at first but now it's just seemed unnecessary. every time i think of a Wang show, i always refer to the varsity spring 2010 show. it would be great to see something like that again, but for now these hybrid, sporty aren't just cutting it for me.
