All About Belts S/S 2006

I just watched some old episodes of Friends and Courtney Cox was wearing this bautiful figure hugging red dress, and all I could think of was "ad a belt, ad a belt"

I hate it when stars choose a designer gown to wear at some event and then they take of the belt, I've seen a lot of that lately  I think it was in the when celebrities wear runway looks - topic

Reminder: the title of the thread is LARGE High Waisted belts..... please post pics accordingly.

Too 80's for me. On Kate Moss, it looks good. On average Jane's...looks tacky and cheap IMO.

Good spotting Space, I noticed this too. Probably due to last spring's Balenciaga and YSL collections (although I think Balenciaga did it much better than YSL)

Some more belt sightings

belts seem to be one of the strongest accessories for ss06, much more in their wide version.. so, invest now and be there before anyone else ;)

thanks space for the topic and pictures

even h&m already has a few of those in the recent collection! I remember a really nice nude, synthethic one and a more still-bohoish caramelbrown leather one with two buckles in front.
i really like the style, might search for a nice one. especially the anna cook one is brillant!

I find that this look can be really unflattering on people who are already naturally curvy...so for waifs like kate, yes it looks amazing...but others not soo much

I disagree, a wider belt tends to pull everything in and help define a waist. It's easier to disguise extra bulk with a strong wide belt than a little narrow one.

loving this look, I invested in beautiful tan one last week, wearing it to death!

^I second that! :p Wide belts help me hide my little pouch that I've got!

I still into smaller belts.....maybe because I am still scared of the time when large belts were all the rage....... ....a few years ago..... :ninja:

I agree. It flatters the waist, the hips and for some reason, I think it flatters the boobs as well.. :ninja:
