She's so pretty. I love how she has her own style/does her own thing.
newsok.com"Bent" Romantic comedy charmingly sucessful
NBC is adding a new comedy to its schedule, “Bent,” which will premiere at 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, and two back-to-back half-hour episodes will air each week, beginning at that time, for three weeks.
The good news is that it’s actually funny.
“Bent” is a romantic comedy starring Amanda Peet (“Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”) as Alex, a recently divorced, hard-working lawyer raising her 10-year-old daughter Charlie (Joey King, “Ramona and Beezus”) as a single mom after her husband’s imprisonment for insider trading.
Alex has downsized into a smaller house and hires Pete (David Walton, “Perfect Couples”), a contractor who is a free-spirited ladies’ man and recovering gambling addict – and someone who needs a new job to get his life re-started.
Alex is dating Ben (“Eli Stone”), a doctor who often finds himself contending with Pete for the affections of Alex and her daughter.
The opposite personalities of Alex and Pete make for a perfect blend of romantic tension and humorous banter, and combined with the rest of the ensemble cast including, television veteran Jeffrey Tambor as Pete”s narcissistic, unemployed actor father and “Friday Night Lights” alum Jesse Plemons as the overly-hazed newest member of Pete’s crew, this is a solid show.
Peet and Walton have particularly good chemistry, the most essential element of a successful romantic comedy, and Walton especially delivers his lines with impeccable timing and brings a playfulness to his character that’s irresistible.
Comedy is a tough genre to succeed in, but with “Bent,” executive producer Tad Quill (“Scrubs,” “Spin City”), has scored another winner.
