There is something really wrong about the fact that that 'thing' got to wear a custom made Lanvin gown while Diane Kruger was stuck with... Hugo Boss?

Her acceptance in the fashion industry yet again dampened the evening. Does Kanye really hold that much power over the fashion industry? I feel like they all have a gun to their head and are forcing a smile.

WTH? Why is everyone looking so bad? From boring to disappointing to downright awful.

Start off with Lupita? What in the sweet world??? Whoever styled her must really hate her. I'm all for taking a risk and being outside the box, but this is just terrible and ugly.

The only one who impressed me was Kate Bosworth. Naomi Watts was ok too.

Rihanna would have been nice, but that hair... THAT HAIR!!! Actually, seems like hair was a mess on most everyone.

What in the world was Katie Holmes thinking in that street girl from the wild wild west getup?

Those Valentino gowns on Kate Mara and Maggie Gyllenhaal should be burned. So much ugly on so little time. Ew. Same with those Rodarte monstrosities.

Even the usual suspects like Charlize, Marion, Elizabeth Olsen (what happened, girl?), etc didn't deliver.

Pleasantly surprised by Zac Posen, I'm usually not a fan, but he did some of the best gowns last night...Karen Elson, Liu Wen, Arizona Muse, Dita Von Teese, Sarah Silverman...

I think Chanel and Jourdan really pulled off their Topshop gowns too.

I also liked Fei Fei Sun, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Adele Exarchopoulos, Marion Cotillard, etc...On the whole it wasn't that bad, but that was an easy theme to follow.

Gwyneth Paltrow is (extremely) lucky she's never going to be invited to another Met Ball again.

Fair enough this event raises tonnes of money for the museum, though everyone dresses so badly. It's all very 'Thakoon' and 'Altuzarra' and all those boring designers who Anna loves for some reason.

I haven't seen one creative outfit that makes me go wow yet, and these people are supposed to be in 'fashion'.

☻ I liked Lupita's headband and jewellery (not the dress, or anything else).

☻ Toni Garrn's dress suits her so much, even if the thing is by Topshop.

☻ Dree Hemigway had amazing hair and make-up going on.

☻ Benedict Cumberbatch looked very elegant and dapper.

Though, can someone ban these girls who turn up in mini-skirts? It's a ball. There isn't much beauty left in the world and it's like no one here cares to make the night look magical.

I've seen high school girls dress better at most proms or formal events. Though maybe that's just where I come from.

Considering there are not so many "the worst MET Gala red carpet ever!" comments as usual, this year's was pretty decent, huh?

The outfits are very disappointing (and thus the designers behind the outfits), I liked Victoria and Anne H the most, elegant and chic.

Overall, a pretty good night! The Met Gala definitely provides more great outfits than the Oscars do nowadays.

I think Lupita was the standout of the evening. I think if I saw more pictures of Ruth, she'd rival her. But there are so many different looks worn by so many different women. It's definitely hard to rank order them.

Best dressed for me:

-Adele Exarchopoulos: This is the kind of dress I would love to see at the Oscars

-Lupita N'yongo: VERY risky but I love it. The Met gala is the only place to wear a dress like that.

-Hailee Steinfeld: LOVE LOVE LOVE. Prabal Gurung is so great. Love everything he does.

Also, is anyone else a little bit surprised that no one wore L'wren Scott? and who was Lanvin's 'special' guest? Was it supposed to be Kim K?

I had a right old laugh on my way to work this morning looking at this outfits, everyone looks terrible.

My favourites by far were the Olsen Twins, and the worse was Kate Upton that looked like a far west barmaid.

And the official photographer of the event should be fired, the lighting on this photos is criminal.
