ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE’s Amber Heard is becoming quite the busy genre actress of late. Hot on the heels of the news that she’ll star in John Carpenter’s upcoming THE WARD, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that she has joined the ensemble of Columbia’s ZOMBIELAND.
In the horror/comedy, to be directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, Heard will appear in a cameo role as the romantic interest of the character played by Jesse Eisenberg. She becomes undead, joining the flesheating hordes threatening a motley group of survivors that also includes Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone. Child actress Abigail Breslin was reported last month to be in talks to play Stone’s younger sister, but confirmation of her casting has yet to surface; ZOMBIELAND rolls soon in Atlanta for release October 9. In addition to the aforementioned films, Heard also co-stars in Screen Gems’ STEPFATHER remake, due out October 16.
