) but someone said that its being changed to billboard top 100 songs to celebrate her 18th number one.

), so i'm not all too familiar with the themes and everything but i think Mariah songs would be tough for the guys.

okay you guys i have this theory.
the eliminations so far have been david hernandez (male), amanda overmeyer (female), chikeezie (male), ramiele (female), michael j(male).
for me...that seems a little suspicious
BUT im thinking that maybe for the beginning of the top twelve that the male or female with the lowest votes (depending on the week) goes home.
because based on the bottom 3 of syesha kristy and mj...i would NOT believe that mj had the lowest votes of those three, but i WOULD believe that he had the lowest votes of all the boys.
because of how crazy the elimination was, im just starting to become a skeptic.
i just want to believe that it really is ONLY about the votes! gah! this show is so frustrating!

nice theory![]()
i hate it when good contestants go because some happens to have a fanbase who thinks they're cute when in fact they're pretty much mediocre *coughDAVIDARCHULETAcough*
now this week, Kristy or Syesha MUST go![]()
what makes you say that.?
Can't say I would do better at his age/in his position, but I've heard many in his age group who can really trump him.
I've heard many in his age group who can really trump him.
From the first time I heard him, I thought that he needed much more training to project and purify his tones (He seemed better when he was younger/on Star Search, but the changes aren't his fault, of course). Everything he performs at this stage sounds really forced, and in turn I actually detect his pitch problems much more easily than most of the other contestants. I don't hear much depth at all, to be honest...and I've turned away the channel more than once when his performances begin
(Harsh, I know)
In his defense, I will say that perhaps his style just doesn't appeal to me -- my parents are both operatically trained, so there's no doubt some bias when I compare David to what I'm used to hearing. But I've liked contestants of every genre on AI throughout the seasons (Including this one), so I don't know...
I also thought about some of the young men (17-21) at my university who are part of choirs and acappella groups here...and whom I've listened to live (Often without microphones present). There is just no doubt in my mind that they have more potential vocally.
His dorkiness is adorable, his personality seems very genuine and understanding (Kid wouldn't hurt a fly!), and his song choices are ideal for him. So no, I have absolutely no qualms about anything else regarding himi was expecting them to be concerning his looks {not "hot" enough}, personality {a bit dorky, too sweet, shy} or song choice {usually shmaltzy ballads}

it's like we're hearing two different boys...

This is not to say that David isn't deserving of his current status -- America and the judges do make the correct decisions most of the time. David's popularity is just one I continue to be baffled aboutIn his defense, I will say that perhaps his style just doesn't appeal to me -- my parents are both operatically trained, so there's no doubt some bias when I compare David to what I'm used to hearing. I have to goto sleep at the moment, but I will return tomorrow with some of the "trump" examples I was consideringI also thought about some of the young men (17-21) at my university who are part of choirs and acappella groups here...and whom I've listened to live (Often without microphones present). me tooAnd I'm going to get some flack for this, but hearing David's "Imagine" performance was actually the moment I started disliking him![]()
i didn't like his "Imagine" performance AT ALL.....
