Ann Demeulemeester Mens S/S 2015 Paris

i love everything about it but the one-trick trouser shape...would have preferred to see a bit of variety in that regard.

The thing is, there's such a rich, beautiful archive to work from, with so many exquisite textiles, they have lots to work with. It's just nice to see her design spirit carried on.

I find its lackluster,I mean the collection wasn't bad it's just lost the spotlight of being cool.

this is really clean and easy; i like the long and short of it in the proportions too.
that said, i'd hate to see the line get too sort of ascetic or monk-like. they need to keep the decadence true to the namesake. more buckles maybe. :)

it's a little too clean, too sparse for Ann. they referenced her work but they failed to channel her spirit. the collection is passable enough, but i'd hate to see her brand proceed in such a humdrum direction.

my thoughts exactly, Ann has been my number 1 designer for the last few years, so I knew that I was going to look at this collection with some reservation. I thought it was not a bad collection, but it just did not seem to have much soul in it, it felt a little too wearable and plain, the dark romance and expectational art of the details, which attracted me in the first place to Demeulemeester did not seem to be apparent. I know Sebastian obviously is going to carve his own version on Ann, I do respect that the brand is going evolve, I just cant deny that I don't think i will be too much of a cheerleader about it, but I would love to be wrong.....

i dunno you guys...if you were to go back and look at a lot of ann's work in the early 90's i see some of these elements being brought up here. the tunic-shapes especially. ann's always had that austerity in her work...romantic as it is,it's always retained a very monochrome feel. i think what's lacking is ann's knack for proportions and volume....it's all much too linear and it's very heavy and layered on top and too light on the bottom. i would have loved more cohesion when it comes to the proportions.
