Ann Demeulemeester Shopping Thread

i just got the loveliest Ann Dem skirt for an absolute steal at Barney's. :woot:

It was an accidential f/w leftover, and the sa nearly refused to sell it to me because it was so marked down. :p

so i got it home--all excited--and my boyfriend admired it very much...

but when i put it on he said it makes my bum look big.

what to do??

give it to me? :flower:

hee hee, what would you want with a skirt Alyce? :innocent:

are you kidding???? keep it, enjoy the bounty of the shape ann has been so kind to accentuate for you...I'm sure its just more fitted then he is use to seeing you in. B)

bounty is a great word...so accurate.

saks.com just marked these down to $270 and a couple of others too.

leather leggings are back!!! :woot:

thanks to Chris for pointing me in the direction of this shop. :flower:

I just bought a pair of Ann D. boots from a film wardrobe sale in Vancouver -- they just arrived today. They're a size too big, but I'm not going to return them...insoles and thick socks forever!

I'm so excited to see the AW collection in the shop! I really want a black suit this season, and a black overcoat, and a hat, and a scarf, and a cardigan...

If anyone is in Amsterdam or going there I just was there a couple weeks ago and found a great shop that has a good selection of Ann for men and women (along with some other nice collections). The store is called Ennu and is on Cornelis Schuytstraat.

@ Laika: "what to do??" - get a boyfriend with better taste. :)

timber, sorry it took me so long... but you are Gorgeous in Ann D. it suits you and your personal style so perfectly.

Bump!
Any buys, picks to share? I'm SO in love with her AW 08/09 collection...

i do...aby :flower:, i loved this season too but it either was downright amazing or very off (the fringey stuff was not my favorite)

anyway...yesterday, me, mr.luckyme, and softgrey met in the city for holiday festivities. what a time we had, i had to wait for my head to clear to post! besides the alexander calder exhibit at the whitney, a japanese noodle house, the tree at rockerfeller center, and 5th avenue lights at night we made our way to saks5th for the sale of the century. we tried on lots of things, some good, some so-so (a CdG coat that was so over the top, I was the only one who remotely liked it though), but the find of the night was a burnt umber, really dark brown butter suede drapey sleeveless jacket that had me at hello, I'm gorgeous. It has this sense of earthiness and robin hood romance to it. Her brown suede this season was my favorite color from her in a while and this piece i might have considered paying full price for, it's that good.

I also bought early in the season a mohair tunic sweater that is an airy open weave and gets more so from top to bottom which is becomes almost sheer.

this picture is the same cut I purchased but mine is without sleeves and more of a waistcoat shape.

Congrats Lucky! I only saw that sleeveless jacket online and it was obviously already sold out... I can't wait for your pics!

Looks like you're having a blast in NY!!

I'm waiting for real sales to start in France to hopefully grab a few pieces too.

Love the floral pants, Sergio!

I was lucky enough to be living/working in Antwerp when the fall collection came out and had to buy a few things the first day the clothes hit the shop. I really wanted the wool floral pants but the store didn't have them or much of anything in XS or XXS. The first image is the short trench I got but in the store they had one in my size that was in a heavy felted wool/metallic blend. I've been wearing it loads and it's fantastic. I'm also in love with the pleated front shirt that has the amazing collar detail. I try and get a printed t-shirt every season and purple seemed to be the signature color this fall so I got that along with the floral silk scarf which goes with everything (most of my things are black with some white, beige, cream, pink, grey and brown thrown in for variety). I also couldn't resist the black floral crocheted brooch and scarf which I haven't worn a lot but they are great accessories. Finally, I just bought the suede boots as therapy since I'm no longer living in Antwerp. :( I thought this season was great but I'm really looking forward to the spring/summer collection and those amazing double breasted coats and vests.

Oops. That should read Komakino.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that I finally bought an Ann Demeulemeester wallet envelope (black suede) and a "holy" tank from the Carte Blanche collection (to replace the original "holy" top I got years ago).

some beautiful items up for pre-order on luisaviaroma.com

the first gauze top is probably my favorite of them all. its alot of fabric but with the right proportions would be amazing on. bold black circle pattern on frail white cotton gauze, and they way its ties...:heart:

the houseofdis, that's quite impressive, you picked some of the best, especially those suede boots. saks had lots of those floral trousers in womens xs 2 weeks ago.
