Ann Sofie Back F/W 06.07 London

I think most of it is horrible. I haven't liked her previous collections either, but at least I could sort of see why people found them interesting. This one's just bad.

Hmmm...quite torn on this. While I don't think this completely horrid,I do think she's playing against her own disdain and ideals towards fashion with this. This seems rather fashion-y to me. The zippers are quirky, indeed, but not original(see: Chalayan + Watanabe). I miss her old work. She had alot more ideas there that I don't really see in this. At the very least,I do wish she had continued in such a way of last season's collection.

Extremely mid-80's in approach from the capri flares to the surface detail.
It reminds me heavily of Martine Sitbon's first collections, in fact.
Really not good enough, however plagairism it is not, especially of Balenciaga.
There are some real fashion police out there it seems.
As for her own classics line, every fashion source is going to have the bread and butter articles they sell season after season. Perhaps they shouldn't make a fashion show out of it, but it doesn't mean they can't try and make a business out of what they do.
This is after all, hopefully more than just fodder for critics.

i've seen much worse than this so no big deal. i really like a lot of these looks except for the leather ones and the awful trousers.

Perhaps you're confused by the photo and how the hemline is turning, but that's just because the models are...walking.
Actually no, I know that coat and the hemline was sewed down and upturned. Ann-Sofie then copied that exact technique. That's really what set me off. Otherwise, yes, it's a pretty standard coat but I think it's standard because Ann-Sofie could never pull off that complex sliced and spliced architectural Balenciaga look.

That b****! lol
Well, since I'm not going off on anything but the photos pictured here, if that hemline is indeed upturned and stitched down, then I could see your point and why one would foreseeably cry foul. Frankly, if it was (and if you actually saw the coat in question with that hemline), that seems like a silly difference to add considering that the exact same coat shows up in black, but with a normal hemline - if I was a buyer, I'd ask, why bother making a completely separate SKU if the design difference is so minor?? If the at least, assuming it wasn't caused by the model walking!

I don't even know why I'm stressing the point - I don't necessarily like anything from this collection! I think I was just in an argumentative mood yesterday! :flower::lol: (and today I'm apparently on a smiley kick!)

No it's fine. I'm usually the one that argues when people are like "omg look at so-and-so he totally copied so-and-so" because I think fashion references today are so convoluted and layered and overlapping that two designers can do similar clothes without even knowing. But that hemline detail here made me think twice.

Honey, that entire collection makes me think twice!

Right on.

This is really sad, especially if she's the only swedish brand out there at London fashion week. There are so many other swedish labels who would have done it better, ex. Rodebjer, Pour, Whyred... sigh...

I'm sorry, but who the f**k is she to be "recycling her classics"? She is not relevant enough to have classics to begin with, unless my and her definitions of classics differ. I can understand Rei doing Evergreen, that's classics, because Rei is important.

I don't think this particular collection is bad, actually.

Well of course she is nothing like f**king rei, but she used to do nicer stuff before and I think the diffusion's way better than this. Yeah, maybe classic was too strong of a word, but still...
