Arabian / Smokey eye Look

I love purple/plum shades on eyes. My eyes are green and I find that wearing purple really makes them pop.
Miu Miu did a purple eye this season:

The above is a very intense catwalk style that I wouldn't really recommend immitating.

Proenza Schouler also had a play around with the idea, producing a much better look IMO:

I saw it in the April issue of Teen Vogue and it was done so nicely, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to pull it off with blue eyes and brown hair. Would that really go?

I wouldn't mind wearing MiuMiu's purple smokey makeup take...I think is soo gorgeous

I've said it before, but I have to say it again.

Lancome, you make sh*t purple mascara.

Some really pretty looks from Proenza Schouler. Maybe I'll have to take up wearing eyeshadow... ;)

You need a flawless complexion in order to pull this off in real life...

i <33 using plums & aubergines for smokey eyes but i also like to use navy blues, indigo which look gorgeous paired w/a pale pink mouth

I think the smoky effect can be done with any color - isn't it all about the smudging techniques?

This technique has been around for a while...actually, I have tried even three colours at the same time, blending them together nicely....For example, a nice gold tone all over the eyes, then a nice muted green like Humid from MAC, and at the outer corner, add some nice turquoise eyeshadow, to create this gorgeous fading look.... this of course, can be achieved with different shades of blue, plum, golds, browns, greens, you name it...
aren't you a guy??

Is there any site on the internet that has any pictures on the black smoke eyes look? Sort of a tutorial...
Every time I try to do this kind of make up I always end up looking like a panda bear...

the only website i can think of that has videos is chanel.com on the makeup page but im not sure if thats what you looking for ;)

Oh thank you so much for the tip!! I found this, but the chanel site is so much better... :flower:

This makeup look always looks gorgeous on the runway or in spreads, but everyone that I see that has attempted it, even if they did it well, looks like they never learned how to correctly apply their makeup.

Natural, natural, natural. Even if it takes you longer to achieve
