Ashley Greene took the microphone away from MTV last night to congratulate 2008’s Woman of the Year - TWILIGHTERS! The 21-year-old Twilight vampiress stayed warm in her purple coat at the HFPA Salute to Young Hollywood party at Nobu restaurant in Los Angeles last night.

Ashley had this to say to the fans: "Congratulations to the Twilight fans for being named MTV’s 2008 Woman of the Year. You guys [Twilighters] definitely deserve it. You’ve been so amazing…just making Twilight a success and making it what it was at the box office and giving us a chance to make the second one. So thank you and congratulations!

MTV again, reports that Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz will be playing lovers in their next movie “Warrior“.

“It’s been amazing,” the 21-year-old, who plays Alice Cullen in the vampire series, said of her life since the massive “Twilight” opening. “It’s been super busy. I just finished another film, and I started working on one today — with Kellan of all people!”

“I’m playing Brooke,” Ashley said of the plot. “Connor, who Kellan plays — [I'm] his love interest in the movie.”


MTV has more footage from Ashley at the HFPA Salute To Young Hollywood Party on Wednesday, and this time she talks about New Moon and Chris Weitz.

I want to drive the yellow Porsche, really bad — in Europe,” she giggled, citing the “New Moon” moment she’s most eager to film. “That’s what I’m most excited about now. I keep saying I hope they let me drive it, because on the first ‘Twilight’ we wanted to do our own stunts, and they let us do everything we realistically could. So, I’m hoping if I learn how to drive stick-shift, they’ll let me drive the Porsche.”

“I’m sad to see Catherine go, but I think Chris is going to do a really great job,” said the star. “I’m excited to work with him, because obviously he’s worked with CGI before, and he’s very familiar with it. It’ll be good. We all knew [Catherine leaving] was a possibility, and I respect the fact that she said, ‘Hey, I want more prep time. Maybe I wouldn’t do the best job,’ and that she gave someone else her place. That’s what we do; that’s our job. We work with different, great people every day.”
