Yes, in one of the books I have about her there is a quote in which she is talking about what her mother taught her, and one of the things is to have only 6 cigarettes a day. And she infers that she kept to this advice, so I guess she did.

Also I think that cigarettes and chocolate were the things that the US soldiers gave out after the war and there are some quotes about that too.

Yes it does, thank you for answering. I don't know why, but she just doesn't seem to me like the type that smokes(even though she does smoke quite a bit in her movies).
