Audrey Hepburn #2

^ I am reading Fifth Avenue now. ^_^ It's not a "bad" read but so far, it just recounts Audrey's life. I am anticipating the part about "the dawn of the modern woman."

^ I want to see the part about how many people didn't want her to do the movie!! More brilliant experts, I suppose...

She was so busy so early in her life! I remember wishing for a long time that she had done more movies, but she was so focused on her home life and raising a family that movies came second. Period. ^_^

Audrey did make too few movies! But all of them are watchable. :D

I think she is one of the few stars whose style stayed very, very consistant throughout her entire life. It was always minimalist, but always glamourous--or maybe charismatic is a better word--even when she was dressed in casual clothing. (Jackie's by comparision went from high drama haute couture to very low key casual clothing. It was always about simplicity but her 1980s style was very different from her White House years.) She also evolved so amazingly and in tune with each decade. (I mourn that Princess Grace became so conservative in her fashion-ideas in her later years.)

My Fair Lady is always watchable. Despite being loooooooooong, it's so funny.

"In 'ertford, 'ereford, and 'ampshire, 'urricanes 'ardly hever 'appen." x 10,000!
(And I love how she looks at the revolving mirror with such an innocent and eager look!)

My favorite Audrey movie. Ever. The best. No competition. Boom. Done.

^ And I never really wanted to see the Nun's Story (Audrey? A Nun??) and Wait Until Dark is too scary for me... She looked beautiful in Paris When It Sizzles, but it has to be one of the worst movies ever made!!

^^ I just watched that about 10 times in a row. God, I love it.

Audrey is a gem. And Rex Harrison is just so goddamn amazing. We are very blessed to see them working together. They are just bomb. :magic:

^ It really is a classic...And Roman Holiday, Breakfast, Funny Face, Sabrina and Charade I can watch all the time!!

I love Paris when it sizzles! It's just so... silly!

A Nun's story is probably one of her best movies, really, I love Fred Zinnemann. And Wait until dark is good too.

^ I want to watch Paris after a couple of scotchs...maybe it will make sense!! B)

After writing this post, I decided to re-write it and sum it up: I love all these films because they happen in :heart:Paris:heart: and because of her wardrobe:woot:
"Paris When It Sizzels" (A part from the above mentioned, the rest doesn't make too much sense)
"Funny Face" (What do I need to tell about this one, girls/boys?)
"How To Steal A Million" (It might seem a silly plot for our XXIst century super technical eyes  :P but it's so cute, and even witty!)
"Charade" (I like the plot - comedy and thriller)

My problem with "Roman Holidays" is that it doesn't happen in Paris... just kidding!

I haven't seen all her films, but I think I've watched most of them, and I think she's just adorable all the time :flower:

P.S. I've realised I love the smilies too much... (smiley temptation here)

Charade is so frenetic. I love it even though I have an unexplainable thing against Cary.

Guys, have you seen The children's hour? I think it's one of her best movies, in every way.

^ Yes, you know Cary didn't want to do Charade at first since he though the older man/younger woman thing was distasteful, but it was handled well, I thought...
Have not seen The Children's Hour, I'll check the library and see if they have it...

I just LOVE "Two for The Road". The movie is amazing amazing. Albert Finney and Audrey are perfect!!! Great chemistry, great music (Henry Mancini), great history...
