Sorry, but what makes her pathetic? She may be many things, but pathetic is not one of them, she is extremely successful, never stooped down to Britney/Christina levels of desparation to get fame and sent a postive message to female fans. And believe me, I am NOT playing devil's advocate regarding Avril, I can't stand her music, and her image was annoying to boot, but I would much rather have my 11 year old sister hanging her posters on her wall as opposed to Britney. Avril has just grown up, and matured and probably laughs at the person she was a few years ago. People change, good grief. What would the world be like if everyone was judged on who they were when they were 17? My god! You ladies need to stop being so dern envious of her.

Edit: and don't tell me you wouldn't all LEAP at the chance to work with Karl Lagerfield. (if nothing else...for the free clothes!!) May lightening strike the liar who says "Not me!"

Agreed, yet I find her transformation a little too 180 degrees for my taste, it would be okay if she just used an item here and there, but the way she dressed up in Chanel, it´s just as if she stole it out of her mum´s wardrobe... nothing really individualistic at all... I miss a little rebellion in her look, something that keeps up with the tough rock edge that she always claimed for herself.

Im trying to take my personal opinions out of this and see it as if I had no idea who she was and just a girl who wants to be a model...ok?

First of all, she's too short, even in a pair of Queen Mum's she wouldn't command the runway, her face is alright, but she has hideous vampire teeth, in that Harpers editorial she has three mediocre pictures. I could see her at Chanel, but other more experienced and talented models fit the bill better, Avril really isn't that hip anymore, she's a memory of 2003.

Perhaps, a boucle jacket, denim skirt, leggings and converses are cool? Maybe? It had better be Kate Moss herself selling that sh*t.

Avril Lavigne isn't my slice of cake but the girl has more class than Britney, Christina, Jessica, Beyonce who have all had to act pretty much like whores - but devout Christians of course , rolling my eyes - to get where they are.

I don't recall seeing Avril scantily clad inviting men to jack off over her on the front covers of lad's magazines.

And yes, most if not all the girls on here would kill to get a contract. Avril is being honest and wants to try another directon. Although my strong principles are against contracts being swiped off models, I can't hold resentment towards a young girl who dreams of being a model.

And if truth be known, people taking pops at Avril are nothing more than plain envious.
