Avril to Model

I think she looks pretty in some of the pics
definatly better than her old image
but i dont think she can just expect to be a model because of her status
there are so many over pretty even prettier people who dont get that chance...:flower:

if i were a celebrity...id try stuff its a fun experience to start with...and if i was good..why not!Id kill to try to model or design or act...dont all of us do?

^ yeah, but its just unfair on the people who try harder but get no notice because of their non-celebrity status...

Idont think she expects to be a new supermodel of this decade. She probaly just wants to get signed to an agency so she can get some ad campaigns for extra $$. I doubt shes expecting to become a "real" model in editorials and runway. Other celebs are signed to agencies for the same reason as her, Drew Barrymore, Chloe Sevigny and Mischa Barton are all signed to IMG.

honestly, i think her height will prevent her from becoming a model. what is her real height anyway?

but like yourbestfriend said, she is probably not looking to be the next Daria Werbowy. only to get extra money from being on the cover of a magazine or in an ad campaign, like all the other celebritites.

I don't really have a problem with the whole 'celebrity as a model' thing - when done tastefully of course. Selma Blair and Rachel Evan Woods looked great in those Miu Miu ads - there wasn't that whiff of 'celebrity consciousness'. So if Avril did do something similar, good for her, she does have very pretty features and as that Bazaar photoshoot proved - she seems to model well.

Plus, I don't think she is setting out to be a fully fledged high fashion model anyway - so her height is not really so much of an issue.

????? I don't get it. I mean...I can see her doing an ad like Lohan, but she sounds like she wants to be an acutal model. So weird to go from being know for your voice and songs to being a muted model. I think it is REALLY strange and a bit immature.

Her edit was o.k. but I wasn't wowed or anything. I almost skipped right over it. She looks short even in those pics. Again....celebrity model, yes....high fashion? NO!

This is ridiculous. Just because her career as a singer has pretty much ended doesn't mean she can just decide "oh I want to be a model now".
How silly....

 Sorry, but what makes her pathetic?
Her "attitude" is pathetic to me. I find posers pathetic, that's all. People who pretend to be something they're not.... I think it's absolutely pointless.
So I find it pathetic (or ridiculous, or stupid, or funny or whatever) that she said she wants to "do beautiful ads with the high-end products" (because of what she vehemently used to claim to be before).

First she was all "I'm a rebel! I'm a rebel!" and now she's "ooh I wanna be a model!". I'm not saying people can't change, I just never bought her act to begin with.

No big deal actually. I mean, there's people who think that apricot is delicious. Go figure.

I thought she was punk.....does anybody remember that? any way I thought punks don't care about fashion?.....um.....can I say.....um......POSER!!!

You know, I don't mind this. Because when she first broke out onto the music scene, she was a kid. She was still going through her rebellious phase. And now, she's grown out of it. Doesn't make her hypocritical, just makes her older. If she wants to do it, then power to her. I, for one, thought she looked wonderful in the Harper's edit; she has a Heaven-blessed profile....

 Sorry, but what makes her pathetic? She may be many things, but pathetic is not one of them, she is extremely successful, never stooped down to Britney/Christina levels of desparation to get fame and sent a postive message to female fans. And believe me, I am NOT playing devil's advocate regarding Avril, I can't stand her music, and her image was annoying to boot, but I would much rather have my 11 year old sister hanging her posters on her wall as opposed to Britney. Avril has just grown up, and matured and probably laughs at the person she was a few years ago. People change, good grief. What would the world be like if everyone was judged on who they were when they were 17? My god!  You ladies need to stop being so dern envious of her.

Edit: and don't tell me you wouldn't all LEAP at the chance to work with Karl Lagerfield. (if nothing else...for the free clothes!!) May lightening strike the liar who says "Not me!" :D
I can't give you any more karma because I have to spread more "reputation" before I can, but you are dead on... :flower:

Can anyone honestly say they weren't at all rebellious, or silly, or poser-ish in your teenage years. You'd be a flat out liar if you said you've never done anything in your younger years that you did to try to be something you're not or that you've grown out of... In my opinion, that's more hypocritical than anything else....

She's just fake. Her skaterimage is not a hype anymore so she changed 180 degrees. This whole thing with Chanel/Karl Lagerfeld is just to create a lot of media attention. I guess the people of Chanel PR couldn't get a better/bigger name. (Madonna was already at Gaultier) It's just that I'd expect Avril to show up at Chanel (because it's 'younger') but not at Chanel Haute Couture. Well, Victoria Beckham was at Chanel HC as well, and she has fashion sense neither.

i think she should just be a rock singer.... and i like her with dark hair better.
