Babyshambles

Or he just broke up with Kate Moss, and more or less disappeared from the tabloids.
I think that's a good thing...

And a bit off topic, but does anyone know what happened to the Libertines forum? I haven't visited in so long and then all the sudden I got nostalgic a few days ago and clicked on the bookmarked link I had, and it no longer worked. I remember the days when I visited the forum daily.

I was referring more to his career, it just seems like he had so much good things coming along...
the RAH gig, solo album, shambles album, and even the musical with carl...now they all have to be put on hold...
but doesnt matter now.. just hope he stays ok in prison. :(

Someone wrote in it not that long ago. It should be there?

I was just listening to "Down in Albion" for the first time in a while and I can't believe it got such bad reviews. Personally I think it's better than "Shotter's Nation". DIA captured the Shambles perfectly. Critics said it was messy but it IS from the 'Shambles... The album is really genuine, unlike many of those over-produced records we find today. Or maybe I'm just being nostalgic and thinking about 70s punk too much.

I agree with you. Shotter's Nation sounds so polished, and like most records of today, over-produced. The songs from DIA sound like demos, but really fing good demos. Many of the songs on their latest sounded so much better before getting reworked. Some I just don't care about... no melodies whatsoever. :( Take Unstookietitled or Carry On Up The Morning... both were just fine in Bumfest demos, not the type of songs that should've been retouched...

I agree completely rollagasper. I love Down In Albion so much, and although I never really disliked SN, it's lacking the messiness from the previous. I think it's because Patrick is missing from SN though. It was his guitar which made for example **** Forever and 8 Dead Boys so noisy and beautiful.

8 Dead Boys

i agree...Shotters Nation is great..but too polished and commercialised!

:P I adore Patrick so my preference for DIA is certainly biased! His guitar sound is really great. A lot of London bands sound similar to me, but I can't think of any current guitarist who has Patrick's messy-but-so-right Jazzmaster sound.

I do like Shotter's Nation though. I was bummed that Patrick's not on there, but the album was a pleasant surprise. I think the band may have read some reviews of DIA and went for a tighter sound for SN.
