Babyshambles blog No 5: In which Nottingham kinks and Regan drinks
Babyshambles hit Glasgow, where their bassplayer tries a spot of beatboxing as Pete Doherty covers Derek B.

Ay up. I missed yesterday as on the travelling trot it can be tricky to rock a blog on time because coaches and hotels prove dicky to get online I find. After Glasgow I missioned it straight to Nottingham to play with my brother from another mother Fionn Regan. But I'm racing ahead ...
Gonzo On Tour was a blast. After the video shoot (it was for You Talk, for those who asked. Maybe I'm not supposed to say, but no one's told me not to) we drove up to Glasgow Barfly to hook up with Zane Lowe's Gonzo MTV gang. He's got a young, affable bunch working with him and they made us feel welcome and comfortable. Pedro and I did a brief Brown Couch interview in which Zane made us laugh by calling Lethal Bizzle the "Grime Minister", after which I persuaded Peter to launch into a Derek B tune (he knows most of his raps word for word, very entertaining) when Zane asked him if he liked rap. We'd just woken up, but I think I was accompanying him with some atrocious beatboxing. Jeeesus. See? Told you we were nerds. The gig was fun, I think its gonna be aired sometime in November.
I trecked it straight down to Nottingham this AM to play The Social with Fionn tonight. We had a good gig, it was wicked to see him, Jamie and some old Notts pals again. We're off to Wolverhampton tomorrow, maybe see some of you there?
Onward and unto the evening's fairest tidings. Or, um, laters...

Awe Pete seemed normal and healthy looking in those French shows.

They are playing at the EMAs

Adam on FDB
yes, it's true, we're off to play the mtv europe awards, us, I know how queer. Will be there for a few days hopefully doing dignings/interviews/small shows who knows. Well, here I sit slightly bored waiting for our call to go and run through 'you talk' and 'delivery' 100 times.
Been playing through what's to be the the start of our next album, looking to go and do a stookieandjim session type thing soon to be available online.
Got achance to play through 'pretty soon' and 'heart of the matter' in sound check. other gems floating about; Maybeline, told you once (my radio debut), cuckoo 1440 (you all know), palace o bone, 1939, etc etc.

FICEK
PS, who's coming later? Summer town...

Babyshambles blog No 6: In which time on tour elapses and order collapses
The Babyshambles bassist is feeling dizzy after jaunts to Wolverhampton, Brighton, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester.

Hello Unlimited readers. I must apologise for the inconsistency of these accounts but internet connectivity continues to vary, and the hours I get to sit and type nonsense are meagre indeed.
After Notts I bowled into Wolverhampton with the Fionn Regan gang to play The Little Civic. The next day we played Komedia in Brighton. Both shows were very special. Fionn's tour manager's name for this jaunt is Kevin O'Dwyer. He is head and shoulders the best TM I've ever had the pleasure of working with. In the past he's looked after the Libertines, Jeff Buckley and the Strokes to mention a few. Like spending time with Pennie Smith, it's a joy to hang out with a consummate professional who has an endless supply of road stories to entertain me and make the road miles shrink with laughter.
Sleep-deprived with crooked smile I flew to Glasgow on Thursday to film Transmission with the 'Shambles. I can happily report that spirits were still high in our camp and it was a fun day. Noel Fielding stumbled into our room to find me asleep on a sofa and we chatted away about the Mighty Boosh's third series and his embryonic plans for a musical Boosh tour. I like Noel, he's one of the good guys.
Next day I Virgin Railed it down to Leeds for another Fionn show in The Cockpit. I met a heartbroken teenager on the journey and we exchanged accounts of love and betrayal. There's something comforting about talking to strangers, don't you agree?
Last night we played Manchester Night and Day, and one of Fionn and Jamie from Noisettes' (who's playing drums with us) favorite bands played with us. They're called Slow Club and I can honestly say they're worth checking out.
