The shearlings are nice...:shrugs:… (but my Armani one I’ve owned since I was 18yo is still leagues richer looking.) Unfortunate that they’re buried and overlooked amongst the piles and piles of stale gimmicks. At least the brand’s thoughtful enough to cast a majority of Chinese faces when they’re attempting to sucker the Chinese customer into still buying this brand.

I'm so tired of Balenciaca. It's so boring and unoriginal to the point where it becomes annoying. Cristobal has been rolling in his grave for long enough. Even the couture is horrible. That Michelle Yeoh dress at the Met was a disaster. And redoing the archive for Nicole and Carey is lazy. The Shanghai lineup is awful. They all look ridiculous. That misothantropic dgaf angry punk style is overdone. It leads to nowhere and Matthew Williams did it better. What do you have to be cynical about when you're a designer at a big fashion house ? And the prices. I think it's the fashion label I hate the most these days. Enough. One thing I didn't mind was the pedo debacle. I didn't feel like it was an endorsement to me but more like a pointing to as if to denounce. Idk. If Demna did all that with his own label, I wouldn't mind. It's just not up to par with the prestige and repute of Balenciaga.

I think he lost the magic once he stopped working with Lotta. I always felt that the way she styled his clothes felt closer to reality.
After the stopped collaborating, the vibe of the collection became so dark and angry without the sense of reality that she brought.
The look seemed cool and confident, Balenciaga girls/guys now dress like he/she has to prove a point to everyone in the room but ends up being the joke themselves.

I think it's the other way round, PPP being the sh*t version, the pink balenciaga is very archival, my grandmother had one made in that pink, but in ostrich on Calais lace and gazar fabric, for a Charles de Besteigui ball...
The complete feathers on the Valentino makes it look like a duster here...
And to be honest, if we cut the 17 first looks, there are many great coats and killer heels....

This place can be a bit detached.

I still see people wearing balenciaga in head to toe looks from on a daily basis here in NYC. A lot of things are actually priced competitively.

I will probably be the only here that likes this. I thought some of the women’s looks and silhouettes were quite chic and well designed. When you get past the meme and gimmick looks, it is actually not bad.

When I go to the store in soho, people are buying things and the store on Madison Ave is always busy.

However, I don't know which is more predictable - BB's current aesthetics or the endless hatred of this forum. The same points in every thread, Cristóbal turns in his grave, BB must be a social experiment, Demna is part of the pizzagate, etc. I ask out of sheer interest, what is wrong with those looks I linked, for example? So what would be better, Galliano's viral tricks at Margiela, which are mostly suitable for editorial photo shoots?

After all these years, the trick has worn out. It's as simple as that, Demna has been trying to use the shock value, but there's no shock when everyone expect ridiculousness from him. He also doesn't have that much to say and, to answer the question what's wrong with these looks, he doesn't know how to use oversize right, either. He's just blowing up the proportions in a random way to create more nonsense.
