Balenciaga Cruise 2025 Shanghai

I really hope he doesn't.

Lotta was really the genius behind the appeal of 2016-18 Balenciaga, because she actually managed to retain an element of Balenciaga's classic femininity in the brand's image. When she left, Demna went really hardcore on the doomer streetwear element, which alienated a good chunk of the brand's older female clientele.

Prior to Demna's tenure, Balenciaga was one of the few brands that made significant revenue from their seasonal collections. Demna bloating the brand's offering with oversized sneakers and logoed pieces shifted those numbers by a lot.
So sad that people perceive Lotta as someone to give all the credit to. Just because she is a self promotional lunatic, and Demna doesn’t even care (or want to) to have his picture taken. It’s typical that the social media trolls celebrate one of their own - Lotta.

Demna's out? Apparently his right-hand woman, Martina Tiefenthaler has left Balenciaga (although their IG bio still states "ꓭB Chief Creative Officer").
Why would he be out if his assistant is out?!? Lol

Until a year ago, Martina Tiefenthaler used to post pretty much about her journey with Balenciaga but nowadays she doesn't post anything else related to it. However, the bio of her instagram still saying 'ꓭB Chief Creative Officer'.
Apparently she would be hired at Margiela to replace Galliano (she met Demna there).

Lotta is the most influential stylist of the last decade. Just deal with it.
She literally made Vetements happened. Without her it would be been very tamed and predictable brand. See the difference between the first lookbook and the following season when she met Demna. Same for Balenciaga. She brought a vision, a casting, a sophistication to what seems trash or vulgar.
It's also thanks to her that Miu Miu is so trendy again this last couple of years.

The most fustrating thing is that Demna's Balenciaga definitely had its genius design moments in the first 2 to 3 years (I was a really big fan of his Balenciaga), but it just got drowned out by vapid attempts at edgy showmanship.
agreed, I loved his Balenciaga as well as Vetements when it came out, and I’m still rooting for him. Very few designers have had as much an impact on Fashion as him.

If by “sophistication “ you mean trashy girly approach to fashion, sure .
