Balenciaga F/W 09.10 Paris

Well actually I love the collection, I was worried it was going to be another cliche-robotic collection, and it all looks very luxurious, 80s = yes, but it still looks very rich in texture and fabric IMO :flower:

I feel that there is too much draping and too little structure.

Completely different from What I've expect...
But still love it, but as someone said before, some of the print dosen't impress me....
I'm so looking forward to the next season...Suprise me, Nicolas.

The draping on some of the first ten looks is absolutely superb... brilliant. I am really quite in love with the look of it.
Other than that, I feel this was somewhat unexpected.

Of course it is Ghesquiere, please.... you only have to change the prints and the textures, and you will find lots of similarities with the 2007 fall winter collection.

Having seen the looks in HQ I've got to say that the draping is superb, I especially love the cocoon shape to those skirts, and the prints look so intricate up-close. Not what I was expecting but overall a nice collection

The HQ's did it for me. This is beautiful, luxurious, inspired but still modern. The first look on Liya is incredible, the way the top is constructed is really great, especially when paired with that skirt which is more beautiful in HQ.

It does feel rather Knot's Landing/Dallas, which is kind of funny because I was on a Dallas binge last summer. SOAPnet sometimes comes in handy.

This collection is so wonderful, finally something other than the "space age chic" from Balenciaga. The draping on several of the pieces is beautiful, and the floral draped dresses are also really cool. The shoes seem very cool, can't wait for closeups

Got to agree with most people on here, this is really lacking in what makes Balenciaga special...there is nothing special about this at all.
There are some 'nice' pieces, the draped skirts for example...but I'm SO disappointed!

I missed that one, it's the 4th to last look.

I didn't like it too much at first. But as I posted I started to enjoy it more. It looks very wearer friendly, I could imagine women of different shapes wearing a lot of the pieces and looking good in them.
I totally agree! I think that this look is very classy, and it will grow on you, the black and white print is really nice, and the cinched waist is kind of cool

If I had seen this collection without knowing who it was ....I would have never guessed Balenciaga! What happened? Is Nicholas Ghesquire still designing? because this is NOT consistent with where the label has been heading the past few seasons.... first gareth Pugh and now another major disappointment.UGH! i'm sad....

those silk skirts are insane :woot:
and im hating the printed dresses

I'm disappointed I thought it would be a lot darker and not looking to the past again.

I do like the obi belts though , there have been quite a few of those all over.

actually i love those ...
and maybe the jewels ...

and there's a silhouette i like ... look #13 (catwalking) ... that's nice silhouette to copy (don't forget to take off the shoulders, it doesn't go well on this)

:( it looks pretty I guess, very wearable..

but being someone like me who cant afford Balenciaga, I prefer inspiration from something innovative and not that wearable, than this... this is forgettable for me..

This is not the last collection from Nicholas... and I know he will suprise me in the future... he's done a good job so far :)
