Balenciaga F/W 2016.17 Paris

Haha omg it's hideous.

Well said.
It is terrible.

It can work at Vetements but send Vetementlikes clothes on the runway at Balenciaga show?
Balenciaga woman is not a Vetements Instagram girl.
Hideous. Tasteless.

Yet another house in peril.

Those dresses at the end are an utter joke.

unlike most members here I don't think this is bad at all. I was very pessimistic about his appointment but this has by far exceeded my rather low expectations.

The play of volume is in some cases very smart, the sports jackets in the strange volumes remind me of balenciaga, and the sleeve lengths no matter what the volume are always on point.

I find the styling and the editing of the collection very 'now' which is perhaps sad because it overshadows some of the very nice play in volume and texture.

I dislike the shoes and the overt nods to the 80s, but otherwise hes off to a great start. Let us forget that small chapter of Alexander Wang and move on.

I feel completely indifferent because it's what I expected. The only interesting thing here to me is the black cocoon parka, that number is great. I've remained immune to Vêtements and I see this quite similar so I can say I'm done with Demna's work, at least for now

This is Vetements 2.0...but now with expensive fabrics!
Kering has killed Balenciaga.

In ERcih Maria Remarque's book, the main heroine bought Dresses, one of them was from Cristobal Balenciaga.
It is far away from Balenciaga.
It is parody.

Feels like an extension of Vetements

some of the dresses has very weird silhouette that makes the wearer look pregnant

Those 80s windbreaker inspired outerwears though...

Style/Vogue.com appear to be raving about this.

There are some intriguing looks here, but it feels very much like a Rei/Marigela tribute more so than anything Balenciaga. Rather unbody conscious if anything.

Im actually liking this a lot and it is miles better than Wang's performance. It is very now, especially the middle part echoes a fresh Balenciaga. This will fly off the shelves.

The complete caucasian casting however is a total and utter disgrace.

I don't mind this. Yeah, it's different from what we'd seen at Balenciaga the past few years, but that's a good thing. It's not a perfect collection but it's a step in the right direction, and if given time, I think he could become quite successful here.

It is like his main brand too many over sized stuff, a bit better than what Wang was doing. those florals at the end are soo ugly tho

There are some lovely pieces here, but most are fugly as all get out. Not into it so far.

this is awful, i don't know how the Balenciaga buyers would stay loyal to the brand if its designer changes every couple of seasons, and each have like a different direction

Miu Miu did the same suit as the one in the first look with much more grace.

I cant understand why people is clapping on this, and praising as it was something new, when this is vetements greatest hits ( and its only a four seasons brand) with an upgrade on fabric budget.

We all now the story so far, first season= huge acclaim....fifth season=same old same old, already looking to the next designer taking over an old house

Didn't expect this. It is quite decent. :ninja:

I thought this was one of those debuts that really felt like a fashion moment. Leaving appart my personal tastes, I have to recognize this was good. There is nothing groundbreaking, everything has been done, there is nothing new; but there is fashion energy in this show, I think that's undeniable.

This is just Vetements Premiere. It's what he'd do with his own label if they had the injection of cash that Baleciaga afforded him.

I understand that a designer wants to put their own mark on a the lable, but why does this have to look just like his own brand? Even the casting and styling? Vetements is proving to be a one hit wonder, but I feel terrible that he gets to drag Balenciaga into this mess. I don't know who had a hand in getting him this job (Anna?? Kanye??).

On the plus side; there are a few good pieces in the mix that will likely stand their ground at retail. But I don't see the client who will buy this. I bet he'll mix in a healthy street style assortment of hoodies and t-shirts in some crazy BALENCIAGA font to bring in piles of cash and then we'll read "sales are up at Balenciaga", thus deeming this a success.

:(

It is very cool, but I hope Balenciaga not turn an elite uniforms. Boots + Dress for eight seasons

A lot of people are already posing with plastic bags on instagram. LOL

Cold and joyless. Another case where I seriously wonder what the critics are smoking.

Hopefully by next season there will be a more diverse cast...
