Balenciaga Florabotanica Fragrance : Kristen Stewart by Steven Meisel

I prefer the image with just the bottle...

It does a helluva better job of making the perfume enticing than Kristen's off-putting awkward stance and gloomy-corpse stare...:innocent:

But basically this campaign as a whole sucks, not that it will matter, because I'm sure all the TwiHards will buy the perfume anyway, ensuring decent sales.

I agreed to whoever said it's weird but in a good way.

whoaaa..Bella Swan in Balenciaga ads...plain face and pale like the vampire. i agree, why does he has to put that dress again for a new parfum campaign??

i actually like it, her blandness works against the chaotic environment..my only issue is the dress. love the bottle too

I don't understand the point of hiring a celebrity model when they photoshop her so much she doesn't look like herself. Kristen Stewart doesn't have a square jaw like that

they went with her because she is a part of a large franchise popular with a young demographic.. and they want to target a younger audience. thats all.... none of this she represents the ideals of balenciaga like nicholas and the pr team want to promote.

Once again, Kristen Stewart manages to look bored and completely uninterested.

what's the point in using a s/s 08 dress for this campaign? it's all too random.

i don't love it, but at least it's something different than the usual ~sensual~ perfume ad.. and i can't hate on that

florabotanica... flowers... flower print.... get it?
how smart? when advertising a new product, they should've come up with something exclusive only to the image or something timeless, rather than digging in the archives, and using this particular style... imo.

I have to agree. Fragrance ads have a certain formula, it seems, and I like this this one doesn't adhere to that formula. I wish they'd make Stewart look a little more interesting, but we can't have it all, right?

She looks the same as every photo she has taken on the red carpet that it makes me think they just photoshopped the dress on top of her

Stewart talks a bit about it... and how she was willing to "model" but they just told her to look comfortable.

I don't get it, this girl has so many potential qualities-physically- to be transformed and it never turns out great.

I sort of get why they chose Kirsten - she generates a tonne of publicity for anything she puts her name and/or face to but this advert is so nothing. They could have had any unknown model in this campaign. It just seems a really bland celebrity endorsement from someone who yes, wears a lot of Balenciaga clothes, but never really looks comfortable in them.

horrible hair and makeup, horrible shoes

at least they didn't have to pick out an outfit from any recent collection (safe last Cruise).

watch them use something from the YSL inspired season for their next fragrance
