And I KNOW the setting is supposed to be some kind of witty meta commentary on backstage and social media culture and some twink is gonna scream at me that I just don't get it, Demna is a genius, but this really is so lazy. Appealing to the lowest of instincts (very much "lol, so random") rather than any kind of sensibility. Will be interesting to look back on this period in fashion in like 10+ years. Maybe things will come full circle and this pseudo-subversive play on cringe will become the ultimate form of cringe itself?

But funny how much they are tyring to say "WE GET YOU!!" with looks like this. This is literally how people have been dressing for the last two years, underwear as outerwear and all. it's the sign that the industry treat their customers as if they're total idiots. And I tend to think they're correct.

I consider Demna talented, I have no problem telling you my favorite collections by him, and the impact he had with Vetements is undeniable.

But Balenciaga has been treating their customers since several collections as if they were idiots. And you know what? Sales are plumetting.
So maybe they are not such idiots.
