I love this shot. I think the contrast of Coco in this futuristic gear against the ethereal, kinda faded background is quite beautiful

I certainly agree. I love how this ad is not trying to be futuristic, because the clothes already are. The contrast is nice..only one thing: coco should close her mouth indeed.

Makes me think of what Michael Jackson would look like in Blade Runner. I don't like Coco here.

i like it. it downplays the futuristic theme which people already have a distaste for anyway. but as much as i like coco, somebody else shouls have taken this campaign (tanya d for example). oh well, it's done ... next! ;)

I also agree with your comment!, I LOVE this!!.
it's one of my favorite Balenciaga ads in a very long time, it's so quiet and eerie in a futuristic way that's not really predictable.. very modern IMO.
It definitely surpassed my expectations.. considering the show was so awful...

GAHH coco's expression!
it looks like she has a big orange stuck up her mouth
ruins the whole picture for me

I like the concept of the space cadet clothing juxtaposed with the suburbia-esque background, but somehow this just doesn't work. :(

I understand the idea of having a futuristic collection in the middle of nowhere, but amore dramatic model would have made more sense in this case. I like the concept, but the choice of model is falling on the wayside. Better than last season anyways

This is absolutely brilliant. I never expect much from Balenciaga's ads - after Fall 2006's ads, how could one - so this comes as an utter surprise. The contrast between this odd, future-esque silhouette and the plain Jane background is startlingly refreshing, especially when compared to other ads from this season.

I have to agree with this. I love this concept, its very The Man Who Fell To Earth.

it's an extremely beautiful shot, i think!!!!
coco looks like an alien who just landed on Earth!!! very stunning, as some have noted, contrast of what she's wearing: something outta this world in the earthy and serene background.... it sounds like something awesome is about to happen with the "alien landing"!!!

AWESOME SHOT!!!!

I agree. I think the easy thing to do would have been to shoot a futuristic collection in a mirrored, armored room or against some futuristic metropolis backdrop. The faded suburban background is a great contrast and gives a really intelligent, eerie feel.

I think it's very creepy. It looks as though something bad is about to happen.

a bit of a juxtaposition..the futurstic with the suburbia theme
i love coco but this ad just seems so quiet and not attention grabbing. something about it anyway..

wasn't a huge fan of the collection, and certainly not of the campaign.....looks bad.

This is amazing. The posture is absolutely perfect, and I love the setting.

Coco and her mouth, however, are getting stale. I agree with whoever said Iekeliene would do a better job.
