Balenciaga S/S 2009 by David Sims

Ummm... no. Just no. Not working for me. It's Metroid Prime playing to be chic and posing for Vogue US. I hoped the ads would help me to accept the collection. They just don't.

Awesome, I'm happy to see a bigger version of Kinga's picture. It is GREAT!
I like them all a lot...

Woahh!! Thanks for the bigger version yaars :winkiss: Robo-chic galore indeed! ^_^ Loving Kinga's shot so much.
Though I'm still dying to see Diana!

Hanne Gaby's coat is the best, but if i focus on models, Kinga wins. Iris is adorable, too.

Wow love that HQ pict of Kinga, her pose is the most unique so far.

I can't wait to see Amanda's shot! There's still 6 more to unveil

I'm not feeling Kinga's robot pose at all. It's almost like explaining why a joke is funny... just way too obvious, bordering on ridiculous. Hanne's shot is my favorite so far, the jacket makes it pop.

The interpretation of the collection, on behalf of the creative director and photographer, is way too literal.

Even Ghesquiere said this was not futuristic but what he hopes is 'today'. I feel the whole space-age/alien/futurism aesthetic in this campaign is the complete antithesis to Ghesquieres intentions and sentiments for Spring 2009.

I'm disappointed with this. Either way you look at it, Balenciaga should have stuck with M / M and Inez&Vinoodh. Now THAT was some iconic advertisement.

absolutely stunning, hanne looked great in my Feb W today. I really hope their is a group shot coming down the pipe, but for sure, this s/s 09 has pulled them out of the slump from the past two seasons. Love the stadium steps/seating with the cubes and geometry. Balenciaga is such an inspiration

After looking at Kinga, I wondered how they shot it...My guess: the girls were dancing the robot while Kraftwerk's "Model" was playing.

I love them all...they look like fembots...^_^

Yes, fembots, that's the reference I was looking for! And most notably, the original fembot, Arcee!

Oh, you don't know your Transformers well enough. The original was Alita-One.

Global fashion needs more giant robots.

^^ I don't think a group shot would be necessary for this campaign anyways. It might look too 'busy'. I like the simplicity of it.

i know it's always hard to get those informations but does someone know who is the A.D ? is he Fabien Baron ? where was this shot ?

 Well, if you wanna go there then I will too....It's Elita-One, not Alita :P

Anywho, As crazy as it is, I do see those Transformers back into these pics...if not for the cubical backgrounds, then it's for the industrial colors and angular poses. I have a weird frame of references for someone on a fashion forum....

i like the feeling of alienation these images provide, which is funny, because i guess that's how NG must feel himself. being an ultimate avant-garde of modern fashion, it must feel lonely at the top of the world.
