Balenciaga S/S 2026 Paris

He has at least a 3 years contract. So you can add more seasons.
Balenciaga has shrunken so much since the campaign controversy that he is totally safe in his position.
Louise Trotter and Vaccarello have currently more pressure than him..
Thanks for your reply!!
Oh, so he’ll really get to ruin the label to the ground… It’s lucky for the next designer. Anyone will look good after this mediocrity.

Great soundtrack and bravo for all the celebrities he was able to pull. Signing Megan as an ambassador is a stunt that Arnault didn’t secure…so great (I guess she has to work somehow).
I am not sure if having Megan as an ambassador will be that impactful in 2025. They should have done it the moment she resigned from the title and moved back to USA. Now with the Netflix series and her brand flopping she became more of a laughing stock. I get the impression that she is not liked.

I don't know what to think about Isabelle. She wore some truly awful things like the tracksuit in Venice, but there were also many great looks, mainly the gowns. I fear with PPP she will look to saccharine. Under Demna she got an edge.

I mean publicity is publicity no?
And tbh, I don’t mind an unemployed royal instead of celebrities bouncing from brands to brands.

About Isabelle…
She looked like a fashion victim to me under Demna.
Obviously she had a longtime relationship with Balenciaga, from the NG days (she also wore his Balenciaga in movies and stuff) and I totally understand that when her loyalty had the potential to be reward with money, she jumped on it (even more considering that she does a lot of cinema d’auteur)…
But, she is the edge.
She looked ridiculous with wet hair and everything.

She should be like Deneuve. Don’t need to be anyone else to fit a brand aesthetic. Deneuve goes from brands to brands looking like herself.

I definitely don’t understand how the fashion system works anymore and how decisions are made.

It’s beyond my mind people like this guy, the PS couple or Maria Grazia keep getting jobs. There are no standards anymore. Talent is not even considered these days.

And how on Earth can a collection like this one, which is even worse than many shows from NYFW, get a standing ovation? There’s nothing here.

I have no doubts that Balenciaga and Loewe will keep flopping. Same as Valentino. Bottega might be sustainable but I doubt the brand becomes bigger. Fendi might work because MGC’s fashion speaks to people with not many brain cells and most of the people living in this world don’t have many brain cells.

What a nightmare the fashion world has been for the last decade. It’s really heart breaking.

It's not bad. He had a really hard task. Taking over one of the biggest brand of the moment, with very strong point of view and very dedicated clients when your personal style is 180 degrees different is not an easy job to do. I understand why there was a mix of Balenciaga, Demna and PPP/Valentino style. He must keep Demna's people who bring $$$ to the house and at the same time find new, more sophisticated customers. Personaly I prefer old Balenciaga. Those numbers were divine. The last dress is to die for!
After so many years in Mordor, this brand needs some light! Wake up sleeping beauty! The price has arrived!

SO HAPPY.
PPP really brought everything together. He didn't isolate the Demna customer, but brought back so many elements that we've long missed from the Ghesquiere era of Balenciaga. There were the classic silhouettes from the house's archive that Cristobal historically created from the beginning. The soundtrack?! Lauryn Hill's (1997) Frankie Valli (1967) cover, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" against the strings? Perfect. This is what PPP meant with the heart beat. This made me hopeful again.

A nice, beautiful and thoughtful return to the house and its original code, without isolating the new.
I cannot wait to see what PPP does with Balenciaga Couture in January 2026.

I mean he really needs to have someone from his team to tell him that edit is the key to success.

This collection could have been so much stronger if he had removed all the unnecessary details like the sunglasses (too much Demna), some filler looks, the bags are not needed, I wish they would go bold like Saint Laurent and just send those bags straight to the store.
Funny how the first look reminded me more of Givenchy Breakfast at Tiffany black dress rather than an homage to Cristobal. It was good tho.
I think this is the most feather I have ever seen from Balenciaga RTW.
My favorite look is the leather cape on Selena.

Oh and the soundtrack is just too notch, properly the best this fashion month.

I didn't have that much hope in this anyway, so in some way it is quite a pleasant surprise.

Demna fans are moving to Gucci…
His biggest challenge will be in creating a strong vision for men and women.

I think Demna’s people should just move on the same way that Nicolas people moved on when he joined Vuitton.

The brand has a bigger reach anyway today. As long as the vision is strong and relevant for the brand, it will work. It will be foolish for him to do a Michele because I don’t think he has secured that kind of devotee crowd, big or small, outside of Haute Couture.

I don't hate it either.. it's something like Oscar de la Renta. Take away the sunglasses and it's some nondescript collection that at least it's... a collection 🫠. To be quite frank, I never cared about this designer, probably never will and I assume this is not some reset button he's pressing on the brand and that this is actually what he does, but for now, considering where the brand was at, it looks like a nice way of recentering it and cleaning things up. Watching this, knowing the person wearing this smells good and expensive lol.. it gave me a nice sense of comfort, aided by the familiarity of that song in a slower version.. it felt like those wholesome videos when they take a homeless man from the street and they bathe him, shave him, make him smell nice and feel alive again, send him off with $200, and they deceive you selling you the idea that it's all going to be okay when you know he's going to be back on his fenty fold in the next 24 hours. Kering can rot for all I care but kind of glad Balenciaga is getting a well-deserved bath.

At least he has left the shiny fabrics and (mostly) the ridiculous volumes behind... for now.
