Balenciaga S/S 2026 Paris

Ok, this is not Balenciaga. It's Valentino with a Balenciaga label. Piccioli is trying to attach his romanticism to a house that demands structural innovation and challenging proportions. He needs to reconsider his approach. As already noted, accessories and footwear overwhelm the looks.

Anyone have detailed shots on the collection? I seen them revise the City bags, but wanted to make sure. The show video moved pretty quickly. Thanks in advance for anyone who happens to post images with details.

This feels like a Romero Britto painting hanged in the dining room of a mcmansion in St. Louis Missouri.

The soundtrack was… probably the worst auditory experience in my life. Even worse than that maluma concert back in 2019

This is what I kinda expected from PPP at Balenciaga and I am seeing so many pieces I am planning to get

Not groundbreaking, but it will make a current Balenciaga/Valentino client pretty happy

Balenciaga showed a surprisingly strong collection with plenty of wearable pieces. The gowns with gathered shoulders were a mistake and didn’t need to appear more than once. The handkerchief dresses also felt unnecessary.

The fringe skirts were great, and the half that followed them was even better. The micro-length top with pants felt modern and sharp. There were some gorgeous volumes, and the purple halter was beautiful.

The floral appliqué looks were a real problem. That curved top lost all impact when styled with a low-waist skirt. The leather cape was excellent, but the cropped leather tees fell flat. The black bustier with fringe brought things back together.

Overall, it felt right for Balenciaga and exactly what the brand needed.

The trousers are Nicholas trousers. Nice cut.
Many classic Cristobal looks.
It will be at the least successful in Manhattan.

I am in love with that last dress, how beautiful, a little verse in the midst of so much verbiage called Paris fashion week.

It feels all over the place without a clear vision, besides bringing the "classic" to Balenciaga (which was much needed after the trashy last Demna collections).

The trousers are cut like Nicolas' SS07, the caps are the ones from FW06, the sunglasses and "couture" brass necklaces are by Demna, some Cristóbal nods (beyond the obvious, one surprising: the orange gown Indian style).
Sounds good, right?
Well, they are combined with the latest trend report: fringes, Bottega shoes, tops showing belly buttons galore (the least Balenciaga thing on earth).
Other missteps: the halter necks, the uninspired colour combinations, (he was such a great colorist at Valentino, at least during his first solo collections), and above all, the lack of work on volume, which led to flat and common silhouettes.

It is a pity that, of all names that succeeded Cristóbal (the great Thimister, Nicolas, Demna), the one thas this collection recalls the most is Alexander Wang, for its fear to make a strong statement.

The music was monotonous, cheesy and did nothing for the mood, so promising at the beginning with those misterious lights in the darkness.

It's fine. Too many obvious ideas and influences at play; some of Demna's accessories and silhouettes mixed with PP's own affinity for oversized button up shirts and feathered everything. At least the last two dresses were strong and probably good red carpet fodder.

At least it does feel expensive as other users have stated. I think the bland casting and average styling do drag the collection down a lot, despite PG and Joe M being the two relevant people involved. A stronger set of models and a more focused approach to the styling could've made this at least more memorable.

let's face it even he seems like an unproblematic, even nice human being: PPP peaked artistically around seven years ago and with all due respect for his work before has lost the ability to push the conversation in 2025. maybe it would be the best time now just to focus on his tan, red corals and the perfect thoot bleaching regime.

this balenciaga has no heart, no soul, no spark, no signature. nothing new. nothing really evokes a desire to be part of this tribe.
Balenciaga lost its ingenuity a long time ago - and with this offering it won't get it back for sure

I'm cackling at the fashion bros watching this ladies who lunch *** collection lol but now imagine how Piccioli is going to scare them away with his menswear. Demna is loving it.

Idk the clothes have less volume, less oversize. Not devoid of it but it's controlled. Maybe Demna wasted all their fabric. I see nice pants, horrible shorts, beautiful dresses , beautiful gows, the dramatic skirts. Only thing missing was big platform shoes. The gloves for Valentino are here too. He is...limited. His best proposition are the dresses.

Important edit: but hey no more tasteless campaigns zombie models trash bags!!!! Let's celebrate that.

Good choice of music.
