Balmain S/S 2014 : Rihanna by Inez & Vinoodh

I feel like Balmain hasn't been sophisticated since the Decarnin days and that is the brand's major strength actually. The look right now is very sexy, flashy, rebellious and at times tacky but so are the people who wear Balmain - and I say that with love. :rofl: Balmain definitely isn't my taste, but I kind of like that there are people and labels who are really flashy and over the top.

If I had to think of a celebrity who fit right in with the current brand aesthetic Rihanna would definitely be the first person to come to mind.

I do agree with the general consensus that the hair shouldn't hide her beautiful face.

I don't like it. They could have done something much better with Rihanna. Not convinced by the choice of the backgrounds. The logo placement makes it look so cheap.

the monochrome shots are better but still the hair is a MESS

I really don't like it at all. I would have rather liked a more glamorous Balmain campaign.
 
The new posted photos are much better than the previous, it reminds me of Whitney a little bit.
But I still don't get the styling quite much...And this is the worst Balmain campaign in recent years, although I'm a fan of Rihanna...such a letdown
 
I like it, Rihanna looks amazing, this is going for a new direction, a change of fonts for the logo would not be that bad, very refreshing for Balmain, like this campaign.
 
I know it wasn't a great picture but to see Rihanna is in campaign means business which I believe it was the right time of this brand.
