Bead and Feather 'Em!

I noticed that for the last few seasons, designers have embraced the ultimate tacky chic style- beads and feathers. What do you guys think of this 'trend'?

not my cup of tea. however, i think it looks really nice to have one feather in a beaded necklace as long as it's done in an understated but hippie-ish way. i'll try and find a picture of what i mean.

It can be really nice if done right! But it's not exactly new, Prada and others have done it for seasons. I guess it sort of ties into the extended use of leather and fur, incl. exotic leathers and furs?

Does anyone have an explanation for this, btw? We're tired of being PC and aren't afraid to show that we enjoy luxurious materials? Tired of synthetics and want real materials?
