I ask Doukas what she is looking for when she spots a new face, what makes the difference between a pretty girl and an exceptional model. When she and her eldest daughter - Noelle, 26, who also works for Storm - spotted Prinsloo on a trip to South Africa, for instance, what did they see?
'It's difficult to define,' Doukas says thoughtfully. 'It's bone structure, the height, the look, but also it's just sort of... a feeling. I remember looking at Behati on the veranda, the way she talked. She's got so much life in her, such a strong personality. And because she grew up in Namibia, she's seen a lot. Just the whole atmosphere of her was stunning. We immediately sent her to [the photographer] Mario Testino then she became Vogue's girl of the season. It all took off for her. I just think she'll transcend trends of modelling; she looks like the real thing.'
