not really feeling the majority of the shots, but i do really love the photo of her in the prada lace outfit. it's good to see her doing something besides the commercial track she's been on lately, but really i wanted to see her do that something high fashion really well, not a bit mediocre like this.

Behati’s Vie en Rose

Behati Prinsloo (center) has been running the scene since 2006 when she left her home in Namibia to pursue modeling in the city. This year, she’s truly hit her stride while walking in major shows like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Stella McCartney and Rick Owens. On the campaign front, she’s been named the first official face of Victoria’s Secret PINK on top of appearing in advertising for DKNY Jeans and Lacoste. While Behati will once again turn up on major runways this season, this surfing fan has been enjoying summer with boyfriend Jamie Strachan. Chic Report caught up with the fresh face at the Waverly Inn along with her beau and fellow friend/model Julia Dunstall to indulge in the restaurant’s sumptous eats (and endless scene)–including the steamed artichokes with garlic aioli and, of course, those infamous truffled fries.
You’re all over the map these days. Where’s your next photo location?
I’m shooting in St. Barths next, and I’m really excited. I’ve never been there!
You mentioned planning a vacation soon. Where did you decide to go?
Since I’m shooting in St. Barths, I’ll just stay there for few days after the job.
We heard you’re a surfer, too.
My mom’s brother has been surfing his whole life. That made a huge impression on me as a kid, but I didn’t grow up near the ocean so it was really hard for me to actually do it and get good. But I surfed in Montauk and went to Hawaii a year ago and had the time of my life.

You’re now the face of PINK. Have you always liked the color?
I love the color pink! I think it’s very feminine and fun. My favorite pink is definitely what you get in the sunset just before it goes dark.
How would you describe your personal style?
Very casual, a bit tomboy.
So what’s your fashion obsession right now?
Doc Martens, weird jewelry and my PINK sailor bikini!
How do you stay in top bikini shape, besides surfing?
When I’m in the city I usually do some kickboxing and Pilates, but when I’m in a place with fresh air, a beach and the big blue sea, that’s all I need. With the whole diet thing, I was brought up eating very healthy, so I don’t go on diets. But truffle fries are a must [laughing]…and ice cream!
You mentioned you were thinking about getting a dog (just like in the PINK logo, natch). Have you decided?
Yeah, I changed my mind. I was thinking of getting a real ugly little dog with a little beard and ratty hair so I can cut him a mohawk. Good idea, right?

Yes, please turn up on the major runways... it would be a pleasant surprise to see her walk in Milan and more Paris shows this coming season.

Well, they made a mistake in that text, it wasn't this year that she hit the stride in those shows, this year she missed all of those they mentioned, except Chanel. Hopefully, it will not happen again this season!
