I always love when Karl goes for a bit of barbarism in his work at Fendi. Some of the textures he created there are to die for, and I love the look of that short leather molded bustier over something very chic and understated like a simple shift.

i'm ready for some sexy aggressiveness this fall...

I think texture and hardware are the easiest things to take away from this and work into a real wardrobe; things like spiderweb or chunky knits, leather and suede, stud/grommet details, drapey asymmetrical pieces and layering. Even though the whole look is so extreme and editorial, a lot of the pieces and details that make up the looks aren't very different from what's been happening in fashion lately.

I'm surprised that the Missoni collection was never posted.

this thread gets prettier and prettier  thanks for the new posts, Spike!

I love Haider Ackermann's take on this trend. It's very subtle and elegantly done.

i saw a few closeup and they look like felt rather than knits^
which was weird

Completely agree. His work always has a hint of barbarism involved though, so I'd expect nothing less from him.

I dont know if you guys know much about philosophy. But from observing on philosophy forums and talking to that kind of creative stereotype. Most take on this whole notion of wanting to live in the caves and trees. Taking advantage of creative thinking :D. Its just funny.

I love this trend

i think that and fashion/design go hand in hand :-P ...if, only it just lasts a season or two.

Beyond Thunderdome, one of my favourite trends of F/W 09-10, seems to be echoing this season quite a bit from last year, though I get a feeling that it has almost evolved, out of the cavewoman-of-tomorrow into the chic and luxurious civilised and ultra-powerful woman emerging from the apocalypse in brand new clothes.. almost like the tribe leader's first lady.. Almost like the brand new fashion of a brand new century.

There was something strange that I had never seen before in these pieces, especially the leather coat and the long-armed last look.

nice to see this evolving on the runways... has anyone been seeing real life examples out there this season?
