Seems to be the way forward...

more and more...:p

Do you mean like pitch black denim? Or that faded black denim/almost grey?

mostly the faded...

but i am actually seeing both...:flower:...
it's EVERYWHERE....
and is definitely selling BIG right now...

:)

Oh...definitely! The faded kind especially! The faded black/grey denim drainpipes are practically a London girl's uniform! A girl at work who's just recently moved from New York to here was actually asking 'Why is every girl wearing the same pair of jeans?' Topshop apparently sells their Baxter skinny in jeans in grey by the TRUCKLOAD!

yeah...i guess it is really more grey even though it starts out blk...
it's funny isn;t it...??

it's this thing that no one really tallked about...
but suddenly everyone seems to be doing it and now it's a full on trend, right>?

interesting to know it's happening on that side of the pond as well...

i wonder what's going on in LA?...
i think it is happening there too...

what's up in tokyo i wonder?......

I've seen ppl in Tokyo wearing lots of vintage Levis and Lee jeans (they have tons of shops just dedicated to vintage denim) in that true black denim - they're always too long so they wear them bunched up at the ankles and they then wear a ton of stuff over it (eyelet dresses with casual t-shirts) then some cute peeptoe shoes. Sounds like one particular outfit but I saw quite a few wearing this look! Ah if only trends here were that cute! Only in Japan.....

sounds cute...:woot:...

very interesting...thanks for sharing susie...:flower:...

I love black denim. They can go with so much, my pair no longer look black as much as they look grey so I think it's time for me to buy a new pair of black jeans.

I agree with smiths -- black denim especially faded almost to a charcoal gray is my new thing, especially going out here in NYC.

Oh by the way, this is my first post on here. :D

welcome aboard AJ...:flower:...

yep-this one seems to go across gender lines...

^_^...

I'm wearing slightly faded skinny black jeans today.

I saw a bunch of beat up black and greyish jeans at maxfield the other day...

Faded/grey ones are everywhere...I don't get the hype.
I like the black jeans though.

I love black denim. I wear it in dark black and also grey, but I don't see as a trend here. A lot of shops sell jeans in those colours, but I don't see a lot of people picking it up. Here people wear a lot of skinny dark blue jeans, and I'm a bit tired of them, but the black ones are not a big trend yet.

Wow, I love those Tsubis.

I only have one pair of blackish denim, but I wear them to death. They're definitely my favorite pair right now.

i love them off completely! the black, grey.....the shops are selling them big.

I love very dark jet black denim. Its different to the usual grey skinny jeans which are everywhere.

I like the skinny black denim as well- but how long do you think this look will be around before it looks dated? And with that in mind, do you think it's worth investing in a "good" pair (I have my eye on the black skinnies by Habitual) or can I be happy with a pair from H&M?

I'm usually a quality over quantity girl, but I also don't want to spend alot on a pair of jeans that I'll hate two months from now...

We're not talking about orange jeans or acid wash here; black/dark jeans may vary in popularity from time to time but they're always present at some level. I'd be more afraid about the skinny part which is just a reaction to bootcuts and will eventually fade from the mainstream. If you want your jeans to last long get something like a slim but straight leg instead of a tappered one.
