OMG How did I miss this...There was a "jacket" with this embarrassment??
Yikes, just when it seemed to be bad enough...

i admit i didn't like the jacket. however i do like the rest of it.
also in the original runway look the bottom of the shirt was sticking out the bottom of the skirt, so it's clear she meant to have it like that.

Not a fan of the latest outfit at all. Finding it hard to believe that she thought that outfit looked good. Maybe she was going for a "miss" considering she has had so many "hits" lately. This shakes things up and gets her in the press.

this makes a lot of sense however.

I have been really holding back to not comment on this outfit...now that this camel jacket has appeared to make it even a bigger disaster, I cannot continue with the silence anymore....she REALLY REALLY needs to make up for this with a fabulous outfit next time!

Ah yes, she must have been using some Serena logic to make it all balance out.

Not wanting to bash the entire look, so I'm gonna say the coat was nice and her makeup looked very natural.

i know..... i still don't get why people are so harsh towards blake... nad leighton has so much more fashion disasters, like actual disasters.... and noone bothers to say anything but 'she is cute':rolleyes:

LOL that's not true. And Leighton has had more fun from the beginning and actually has personal style... she wears certain things because she can and doesn't try to push herself as the next fashion icon while putting others down. Can we escape an interview of Blake's where she doesn't boast about being stylist-less (which I can tell you is not true) and how unique/personal her style is when all she does is rip off her character's or the original runway look?

agreed!!

I still like it, the only thing I would change are the shoes. The jacket is gorge.

It's a little middle-aged, but I don't hate the camel jacket... okay, you can all shout at me now. ;0)

I happened to see a small part of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and she was so much...less curvy- she looked great, almost like a fashion model! ^_^

I think she looks amazingly beautiful as she is, wouldn't change a thing or a curve for that matter

Oh, I'm not saying she doesn't look great now or should change (I knew my comment would be taken wrong) It's just I was surprised how different her body looks after just a couple of years; it wasn't a criticism at all..

My issue with her is that I feel that she's not established enough yet to be making these claims of "style icon" or etcetc. She's been in one well recieved movie. That's it. And, yes, I do think she did really well in it and she has a lot of potential but she is grating on my nerves big time lately. She needs to chill out and do some more good work before she starts trying to pimp herself as ~the next great actress style icon person~.

^Agreed. I think her PR people are under the impression that she's bigger than she really is.

They're trying to move too fast. She's a B-list celebrity at the most. A lot of the people I know haven't even heard of her.
She's appeared in about 7 or 8 movies and none of them were a starring role.
Like you said she needs to chill for awhile and concentrate on her work.

I seriously do not understand the criticisms she's getting for this one outfit. She looks absolutely amazing from the belt up, imo. The skirt is a little bit risky but she's young, she's fresh, and fashion mistakes are bound to happen. And I don't understand why it's such a big deal that she wore the outfit as it was seen on the runway? She thought that the style was interesting, so she experimented; I don't think that's something she should be criticised for per se. Its not like she did an interview on the red carpet and claimed that she put the entire outfit together by herself... :innocent:

I also never got the notion that Blake was setting herself up to be some "fashion icon." I think her comments and interviews have made it very clear that she's learning and this world of fashion is just now beginning to intrigue her. Even in the interviews when she talks about how Anna Wintour invited her to the Dior and Chanel stores, she seems so overwhelmed and even says how lucky she feels to have the opportunity to experience this glamorous high fashion lifestyle.

I think the idea that she is a style "icon" has come mostly from the media, especially starring in such a fashion-centric show like Gossip Girl. Yeah her PR team has used that to her advantage, but I seriously do not understand all the criticism... :ninja:

Karl Largerfeld invited her to fashion week and states her as a muse. Anna Wintour loves her. She is a supporting actress in The Town that has done very well and is listed as staring in the Green lantern as leading lady opposite Ryan Reynolds. She is no longer a B list

She's fashion A-list, not actress A-list.

There's no way she's actress A-list due to 10 minutes in The Town and a film that hasn't even come out yet (which is also being marketed around Ryan Reynolds, not her). When she starts getting nominated for major awards (SAG, Golden Globe, Oscar) or carrying films on her own (e.g. Katherine Heigl), she is A-list. You make it to A-list by either being a commercial or critical success, of which she has neither.
