At just 17 years old, the blogger and self-proclaimed shoephile has already been featured in Teen Vogue twice, not to mention captured praise from fellow fashion bloggers. “Sea of Shoes started as a joint project with her mom, Judy, a designer and former model who is Jane’s sole ‘real-life fashion friend,’ to showcase their vast collections and chat about contemporary designers,” says Texas Monthly, which recently profiled the Trophy Club, Texas-based blogger. The article also was the first to reveal that Aldridge “recently designed a line of shoes, Sea of Shoes by Jane, for Urban Outfitters; three pairs are set to debut in July and three in December.” Expect high-fashion inspired styles (the footwear lover is a major of fan of pairs from Margiela, Prada, and Comme des Garçons among others. And while the fashion blogger may be one of the first in her field to design for a major retailer, don’t expect it to be the last pairing. Bryan Boy for Topshop or Susie Bubble for H&M seems all too plausible of a next step.

I  Sea of Shoes!

That's wonderful! I'm very happy for her. Jane is a really nice person & I've enjoyed the contact I've had with her discussing vintage mags & ads. Her Mom is great too!

wow. that's amazing... having her own shoe line at only 17 years old. so jealous.

very cool for her! i love her style... did anyone see how hard she was rocking on her trip to NY? hotness...

well done JAne,
she has so much good taste, she deserves it!

thats fabulous. i flick through her site now & again but for her to yield the power of her own range for such a high profile retailer....unbelievable! something i truely never thought possible. Im glad its her--since she is so passionate. I expect the line to have a very high end look.

I just hope perez hilton is never given the power :yuk:

That's a girl with a passion, great that she's getting a chance to do what she loves :flower:

I recently discovered and have since been enjoying her blog! She has such conviction but is always sweet about it. Often times it's so much easier to talk about fashion and be b**chy so I love that she's not!

Go Jane! Looking forward to seeing more from this talented and passionate person!

Sea of Shoes' Jane Aldridge designed six pairs of shoes for Urban Outfitters under the label J. Aldridge for Urban Outfitters, with the first three pairs hitting stores July 15 and the second three in December. Refinery29 and Teen Vogue have looks at the first set, which includes black studded gladiator heels ($98), black lace-up flats ($58), and knee-high peep-toe boots ($178), and as memory recalls marks the first design collaboration between a blogger and a major retailer — save perhaps Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast's upcoming pieces for RVCA.

I love the brown boots but it's easy to tell where she got her inspiration from.

She's here right now :shifty:

huh ^ trust you to start this thread holly hehe i think its a great achievment for Jane- i love her blog. and honestly if you were given the same opportunity you would be crazy not to take it. is there a thread on here about Jane's style....

I really enjoy Jane's blog. There is a real ease to it. You get a real sense of her enthusiasm and love of clothing and shoes. So I really hate to say I'm a bit disappointed with this. I guess I was just expecting more though I have no idea what, if any, limitations were placed upon her. Of course, those brown boots are great, and while the Prada inspiration is obvious for her devoted readers, it's still a great boot and a great way to conceptualize something she loves on another level.

i like her, she seems like a really nice person that enjoys fashion at its best. and her mom is a whole lot of inspiration herself. she is no designer, thats why the shoes clearly have a knock-off vibe but the brown boots uuh are to die for!

From reading her blog on/off she seems sweet, but I won't be running off to get those shoes; they seem too similiar to various other brands. Its great that another blogger has been given such an opportunity, but I was expecting something different perhaps, not for her influences to be so obvious. :/

She's just a fortunate rich girl with a enviable
collection of shoes...

Sorry but she's no designer........

:innocent:

Congratulations to Jane, that's really a great opportunity. She's 17 though? How can she afford a sea of shoes at that age? Again, my fellow TFS-ers have me very envious.

I do like the peep-toe boots! I think it was a great opportunity for her and I'm glad she took it.
