These shoes are AMAZING.
I love them.
I really really hope she'll tell us more about the making process.
I'm astounded by her talent.

is this irony or am i very slow? :ermm:

i think at the end of the day, without trying to say anything about being "spoiled" or a "rich-kid brat" which are not words that i would call Jane or associate her with anyway, Money does have a huge factor in buying you great pieces and therefore - to an extent, style.

Sure, you can be fashionable in all vintage and thrift - but look at the type of vintage pieces Jane wears, many of which are from her mom's amazing store, picked by a discerning eye. And all the esoteric (and expensive, EXPENSIVE!) pieces of clothing, shoes - that is certainly NOT what the average 17 year old, no matter how passionate about fashion, or stylish, is capable of affording.

I also find the jealousy comments very strange, most of the posts have been extremely intelligent, well articulated and not pointless insults. I don't have any plans particularly to be a shoe designer so i certainly don't begrudge Jane her opportunity, however it certainly seems reasonable that comments will be made about her age, her inexperience, her lack of credentials/training, as well as her background. I mean that is simply what put her out there in the first place, and obviously a part of discussing this interesting :innocent: state of affairs in fashion/marketing.

Of course, it's not.
They're A-MA-ZING !
It's really great to see someone as young and talented as she is, getting a job opportunity like this one, so it's nice to know that it can happen from time to time.It must have been an extraordinary experience, I wish we could know more about it, so we could all benefit from it. :flower:

I think there's actually quite a lot of us on tFS who don't like the idea of knockoffs, but simply choose to avoid the thread you mention and those like it.

I've been following this tread with some interest, and I have to say, I object to the way it's being moderated. In particular I'm disappointed to see that nanker_pheldge's original posts - which may have been critical yet were articulately argued and in no way constituted a personal attack on the blogger in question - have been deleted. Meanwhile, posts that could arguably be construed as inappropriately personal (i.e. calling her "spoiled," or refering to her family's income) remain. Very badly done, imo. I know that tFS isn't meant to be the last bastion of free speech or anything, but come on.

They were completely off-topic, so I guess it's understandable.

^ I think your comments were interesting and thoughtful. You and I both have differing opinions on this matter, but I appreciated reading your thoughts since they were not of the usual 'rich, spoiled, brat' variety.

Moderators' Note:

This thread has gotten seriously off topic ... so we are closing it for a clean up. It will return shortly.
