i can see how non-indians or for that matter non-south asians find the bollywood 'western' wear to be somewhat kitsch (as i used to as well), but having recently been back from there (& being south asian myself) i've come to realize their 'western' wear is just an extension of their traditional wear-in terms of their use of bold colors, beadwork, embroidery, etc. i remember flipping through magazines and finding some things so outlandish, but having come back from there i picked up many pieces i would've never dreamt of purchasing. being labelled as the typical 'east coast' dresser, it was refreshing for others and myself to see the 'western' wear pieces i'd added to my wardrobe. so just wanted to give a little kudos to south asian designers who keep well to their roots and their identity!

i came back from 4 months in india a few weeks ago where i totally fell in live with Abishek and SRK! i cant believe Abishek's engaged to Aishwarya! i didnt even know they were dating? there were rumours about them exchanging rings at Madurai temple but i thought it was gossip, can anyone give me the story? how long have they been dating etc. i love aishwarya i think she's the most beautiful woman in the world!!!

Well as far as i know they have actually been dating for quite a while but neither of them admitted or denied it.....i think she got with him soon after she broke up with Vivek Oberoi.

There has been great speculation about the wedding day (Feb 19th) for quite a while.........and apparently Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya after the premiere for their new movie 'Guru'....her answer was not yes straight away! she told Abhishek to ask her Dads permission and once he said yes, she did too!

Amitabh and Jaya (Abhisheks parents) say that they did not know about the planned proposal but are very happy

As for the engagement ring, i have heard it is a diamond ring but not sure what it looks like? anyone found any pics?

However what i find weird is that Aishwarya has been wearing a ring on her ring finger for quite a while

Shahrukh Khan is . There's just something so incredibly hot about him, he's got this amazing charisma. And he can be both a comedian and tragedian, equally as well.

Gauri is...not what I expected. I sort of expected someone more like Aishwarya with him, because she's pretty much the queen of Bollywood, and he's definitely the king. Kind of like gorgeous Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt (whom I don't get the appeal of, but apparently everyone else does).

She is pretty though, and must have some redeeming qualities. Grrrrr; jealous.
